Hi Bugsy. I believe Atlantis is a myth perpetuated by evil spirit powers. You can do a bit of research via the net if you want? Try <atlantis, demon, evil spirit>. The only problem with taking anything about Atlantis as genuine truth, is that satans little ones lie about everything. So if men are getting a story of a great civilisation with a great light power system its probably dribble anyway. I dont believe in Atlantis, just for your records.
TRTL. If the Word says "All scripture is inspired by God", whats the problem? To say men wrote it is unenlightment. It cuts out The Holy Spirit and His works. God sat the men down. Then He inspired them, under the POWER of The Holy Spirit, to write what He wanted the history to be. Its His Story. This is not a bunch of guys through history making up stories. Its a group of men... under the POWER of The Holy Spirit... doing the writing. Thats what makes The Word unique. GOD INSPIRED! Can you dig it? How about some help under "Is Communism still there"?

But Gibo, Stan Deyo fervently believes in Atlantis. Plato mentions Atlantis, and Plato predates Christ by around 400 years, and said that the story was handed down to his grandfather from long before then (~9000yrs!). Stan Deyo also believes he has found the site of the ancient civilisation. You believe in demons, UFOs and witchcraft, but not Atlantis? Odd.

Gibo, try using some critical reasoning.

How can you know this word was inspired by god? All you have to go by, is the word of these men.

Here is a hypothetical for you Gibo -

1) Would it be possible for just "a bunch of guys through history to make up stories?"

Logically the answer has to be yes - after all, there are competing faiths where other stories of the like have been written as well. They can't all be right, so it must be possible for a bunch of guys to write some scripture.

So we've established it's possible a bunch of guys made up some writings.

Now, in the event a bunch of men made up a whole bunch of stories, perhaps loosely based on historical events with some mysticism added for flavour, wouldn't it be logical for them to attempt to give it some credibility?

How could they do this?

Ah! Why couldn't they say it's inspired by god? I mean, isn't everything ultimately inspired by god?

And what do you put forward to back your case? The stuff written by these guys, which says they're more than a bunch of guys.

Problem there, Gibo, is that a bunch of guys would have written that too. Though, regrettably, there always seem to be people out there who are easily led.

We, the born again christians, know TRTL that the Holy Bible is totally inspired by God because! of One Person only, The Holy Spirit.
When you confess the sin and ask Jesus Christ in as your Lord and Saviour (and do it fair dinkum...you really mean it) you recieve The Holy Spirit and He Confirms all truth. "All who call on the Name of The Lord will be saved"...Romans 10:13.
This is what the world either forgets or doesnt wish to know.
Its The Holy Spirit living within the believer Who Confirms all truth about the Holy Bible. Its so simple.
The world uplifts its philosophy and it own idea of how things came about but! its The Holy Spirit living within the believer who shows the truth. We know the Bible is inspired by God and we know how He did it. He sat the writers down and The Holy Spirit came upon them and they wrote in The Holy Ghost what God Wanted them to write. Its never ever, ever, ever been complex.

And yet Gibo, everything you just spouted comes from the bible. If the bible is false, then everything you just said is false.

The only corroborating information you have, is the same bible.

No TRTL the corroborating information is a He, The Holy Spirit. I said it to you. Its The Holy Spirit Who Confirms The Holy Bible to be true. I guess you will just have to confess your sins to God, invite Jesus into your life and thank Him for dying on the Cross for your sins... then recieve The Holy Spirit Who Will confirm it all to you. Its not complex.

I would do what Jesus Christ WILL do on His Second Coming. Everything that is not of God must go. Man, off doing his own thing, without God in Charge, has already poisoned the world physically, mentally, spiritually.
