Israelis have a right to self defence, but I believe the Zionist action in Gaza and elsewhere goes beyond self defence and encompasses a plan by the far right of Israeli to create a Pan-Zionist state in the Middle East. The evidence is clear, 75,000 dead Palestinians in Gaza is clearly genocide. The total destruction of Gaza, land confiscation in Lebanon, Syria and the West Bank with the forced displacement of millions of people is genocide, noting short of that.

A few days back I invited our local antisemites to comment on the deaths and forced abduction of children by the Russians in their war on Ukraine.

Silence.

Ask the to condemn the genocide of the Uighurs in China and you get a full-throated defence of the Chinese Communist Party.

Ask them about the deaths of 100s of 1000s in Yemen at the hands of Islamists.

Silence.

Ask them about the deaths of Christians at the hands of Islamists in Ethiopia and Somalia.

Ask them about the rise of slavery in Libya, Syria and Chechnya.

All they want to talk about is the deaths of Gazans in a war launched by Gazans.
