Let me say clearly right at the start.
I do not agree with the harming of another person, anywhere, at anytime, for any unlawful reason.
That is fundamental to the way I think.
That being said, I can still understand the frustration felt by those who attacked jewish persons.
They see what is being done overseas.
They see wholesale slaughter of persons, just because it is thought there are bad elements amongst them.
It is akin to killing everyone in Sydney, to eliminate crime gangs there.
Would that be considered unlawful, and raise a strident cry of 'foul'?
But the equivalent is being done overseas.
And no one is condemning the action.
No one is doing anything significant to stop the continuing slaughter.
Or bring perpetrators to book.
But 'tis an ill wind which blows no good.
Surely there is something which can be retrieved from the ashes of both disasters?
Surely now, thinking persons will consider the seriousness of these happenings?
And those amongst them who have influence will act to stop the killing?
Permanently!
Dear Donald did something useful, but he didn't do enough.
Albo needs to realise he lives in a world at war.
And see the need to make a stand.

"That being said, I can still understand the frustration felt by those who attacked jewish persons."

So you would understand people attacking Russian migrants because of the Ukraine war or because of the Holodomor? Even Poles for starting the second world war maybe?

If you think like that you have some hatred and a them and us mentality to deal with. You might also look at the history of Israel before you blame the Jews for the current conflict, like Albo and PenPen do.

“They brought it on themselves” has been used as a justification for violence against the Jews as old as antisemitism itself, stretching back through the “Christ killers”, “blood libel” and “well poisoners” of the Middle Ages to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the 19th and early 20th century, to modern conspiracy theories about the “Jewish Lobby”. This ancient racist trope is constantly being rediscovered by antisemites in every time and culture who want to rationalise their prejudices.

Even if every allegation against Israel is true, that provides no excuse for shooting an innocent 10-year-old girl at a community celebration in Bondi. As Fester says, Australian Jews are no more responsible for Israel’s actions than Australians of Russian descent are responsible for Putin’s. That Jews are uniquely and repeatedly singled out for this collective guilt is one of the things that distinguished antisemitism from other forms of racism.
