On immigration no matter what class: permanent, work visas, international students, there is no excuse for the Albanese government. But John Howard kicked off mass immigration, albeit with lower numbers, but he did his bit to change the face of Australia - keeping it from the electorate.
Howard gave the impression his government was reducing the flow by stopping the boats, but he brought in large numbers of economic migrants to enhance the GDP and please his corporate backers. The effect on GDP per capita would have been no easier for locals than Albanese's mass immigration is now. Howard kept his actions from the people because he knew that they would overwhelmingly OPPOSE it. Some commentators think that Albanese is just copying Howard. Now, given that Ley and the wets lost the election for copying Albanese, does anyone really think that either branch of the uniparty deserves their vote? The gutless wonders in the Liberal Party promised a piddling little cut in immigration. Now (apart from one who will end up toast) are saying nothing, copying Labor crawling for the Indian vote, and not mentioning the student sorts, nor the 100,000 people whose visa appeals failed but are still living here. As of today, 70% of Australians want a pause in all immigration until more infrastructure such as schools, roads, hospitals and houses are built.
77% of Australians say that mass immigration is dividing Australia. Posted by ttbn, Wednesday, 15 October 2025 4:09:05 PM

Dear Ttbn,
This continent is not yours, nor any humans', to select who may or may not live in it. This continent, among the rest of this planet and the rest of this universe, was created by God to be equally enjoyed among all His beloved creatures. He alone is the master of all. to select who may or may not live in it.
Yuyutsu, Perhaps however, those who provide the means, goods & general living conditions most people are attracted to have a an undeniable right to stipulate who can benefit in this society ! Posted by Indyvidual, Wednesday, 15 October 2025 6:50:10 PM

Dear Indyvidual,
Certainly - a society may determine as it pleases who is to benefit from its own creations. The land, the air, the water, etc. are not society's creations. Posted by Yuyutsu, Wednesday, 15 October 2025 8:18:48 PM

Australia now shows the marks of “civilisation decay”.
We now risk the fate of Britain, fracturing from within, as our unity, beliefs and identity fail. With more and more mass immigration, common language, beliefs, handed down memories, history are fading. Continuity will soon be kaput. It's not the fault of the immigrants, who know nothing about Australia; it is the fault of our politicians who have not required them to assimilate and adopt the mores of their new country. Rather, they should retain their different cultures, and turn what used to be a nation into a disconnected, multicultural and divided hotchpotch. Only the West suffers from the cancer of multiculturalism. Australia's history has been denigrated by these treacherous politicians, who don't seriously believe that Australia is worth defending anymore. But, of course, they only draw power from the people, and they reflect either the strength or the weakness of those people; and it seems that not many Australians want to protect our founding culture. “Civilisations seldom fall by conquest; more often they die by ignorance of internal corrosion”. Onya CM
As for God deciding where people live, He did that in the beginning by putting distinctly different people together in different parts of the world. Thanks to multiculturalism and unchecked immigration, there is now an 18.5% chance of civil war in the UK within 5 years, according to a Canadian academic working in England. The longer things stay the way they are, the odds of it happening rise. Nearly 12,000 people in Britain are arrested every year for making “offensive” tweets. But most are never charged. The process is the punishment. What a waste of time, when the UK police real crime rate clean up is the lowest it has ever been. The off GOV.UK site urges people to think before they post. Anything posted could be declared ‘violent’. That sort of authoritarianism is coming here, thanks to mass immigration and multiculturalism. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 16 October 2025 7:20:17 AM

Politicians can't admit that their imposition of multiculturalism and mass immigration are wrong. They now can't stop and repair the damage: so they blame the locals, punishing them for objecting to something they did not vote for, and doubling down on importing more people they think will vote for them.
Replacing the population is real. Over thirty percent of the population is already foreign born. And, that certain people vote a certain way is denied by the people benefiting from the fact that they do. Their votes are a thankyou for letting them come here to carry on just as they did where they came from: not even having to speak our language. Remember. Chinese voters put John Howard out of his seat after he made comments about Asian immigration. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 16 October 2025 7:41:39 AM

Pauline Hanson has rightly called for the temporary visas granted to Gazan ‘tourists’ to be revoked. Temporary means temporary.
It's a bit early yet, given that Hamas is still operating, but the visas should be withdrawn in due course. Of the 3,449 people given temporary visas, about 1,900 made it to Australia. The balance should never come here. They and the temporary ones here will be required to rebuild Gaza. Arab countries with the same religion have resolutely refused to take them in - without receiving criticism from the holier-than-thou Albanese government - so it is absurdly suicidal for a Christian, democratic, rule of law country to actually encourage them to come here. Yes. Australia is still a Christian country: Christianity, on which all the democratic benefits are based, still has the most believers of all religions in the country. The 100,000 people from all over the place who have already had their temporary visas removed should also be deported, as should the foreign student leeches who keep applying for any visa that will give them extra time for weak-kneed Australia to let them stay permanently. While Australia is OK with allowing in, even encouraging, all sorts of people who are obviously averse to our values, the activist High Court has upheld the Albanese Leftist government's decision to refuse a visa to Candice Owens, a US blogger and political commentator.
The wonderfully tolerant Tony Burke had decided that Owens was not of good character, and she might incite discord in Australia. Perhaps he thinks he and his government have caused enough of that now, with all the visas granted to some pretty awful people. No. It's pure ideology on Burke's part, and pure arrogance that he thinks Australians can't make up their own minds about what Candice Owens or anyone else spruiks. It might even have something to do with the huge number of Muslims in his own electorate. Surely not! He and his government have denied that Muslims all think the same way. And, did Owens send him a list of things that she intended saying to cause all the “discord” he is frightened of? Now, some of the things Candice Owens believes and says are nutty. She has talked rot about the Holocaust, for instance. But isn't everyone entitled to free speech, even as visitors, as they are in Owen's country of America? Donald Trump is beginning to think not. Perhaps he might have a word with Albanese about it when he sees him. Americans in general, always believing we were a lot like them, are increasingly shocked by the growing authoritarianism in their ally and friend. I'm not a fan of Candice Owens, but I think that I would prefer a short visit from her rather than the permanent return of the ISIS brides, and those Pro-Palestian disrupters and haters. It's just all bs ttbn,
They talk about these 'shared western values' It's all just hot air, they claim democracy and freedom of political expression but they're so frightened of their own people or those from other 'democracies' even having a say and they prevent them from traveling here altogether. 'We're frightened you might talk to people and share your opinions on things, and we don't like it, so no sorry you're not allowed in.' Like I can't just watch her on the internet anyway? Maybe our eSafety commissioner wants to ban her from the internet as well? Stupid 2-faced government, make up your minds what it is you permit and do not permit. And as for Australian culture. It's not multiculturalism. Don't try and tell me Muslims covered in black sheets, Africans with machetes and Indians everywhere is "Australian". I'm just not sure that you can take someone from the jungles of Africa or the mountains of Afghanistan, and give-em a pair of thongs and a stubby cooler and slap on a green and gold t-shirt and call it aussie. Wasn't it Candice Owens that talked about how White killings of Black people was far down the list of problems in Black communities, and Black on Black killings were much higher. Number1 was a lack of Black Fathers.
The interactions I saw between Candice Owens and AOC made me proud of Owens. At least Owens is trying to shame Black culture into striving for better principles. But to even talk about black culture is to imply that there should be such a thing as black culture and perhaps white culture rather than global culture. As the Marxist's say "workers of the world unite" as one culture- idiots. When the strong in black communities do nothing they are responsible for the failings in black communities. Owens is doing something. Perhaps the UK Muslims should learn from her example. If the sub-cultures don't manage themselves they will need to be managed. Good fences make good neighbours. Every culture needs their own nation. I suppose Burke would also ban Prof Thomas Sowell for talking about LBJ and his policies on single women pensions causing black women to kick their men out of the house. All that glitters is gold... buying a stairway to heaven... or hell. Stable families make strong stable communities, even without the single women's pension, sadly the black communities weren't wise enough to see that. I think that Candice Owens could teach our black communities some wisdom, maybe they would be able to create a black economy and proper self sufficiency and self determination, but sadly Burke is the gatekeeper to the wisdom, and in a few generations the Aboriginals will be gone. Three cheers to the Labor Party and their friendly band of tricky merry Marxist's. Posted by Canem Malum, Friday, 17 October 2025 2:33:09 AM

Yes. She did. And the fact that blacks kill most blacks is a big problem for the Left. Thomas Sowell (black) would also have trouble getting past Burke because he had been poo pooing black disadvantage and white “racism” for his entire career. Posted by ttbn, Friday, 17 October 2025 7:26:45 AM

Announced this morning: 600-700 Gazans "could" be brought into Australia to be with the 2,000 or so already brought here recently. So much for calls to cancel temporary visas.
Nah. We'll be proper narks and bring in a few more. Posted by ttbn, Friday, 17 October 2025 8:06:16 AM

I think I read somewhere that many of them are Palestinian Christians ttbn,
I'm sure we've let in just as many Israelis since October 7. And with the Israelis there's just as many risks as with Muslims, if we do get some of those. The Israeli's might try to claim that God gave this land to them, and try to annex a part of our country or build illegal settlements, or engage in hate crimes too, even try to kidnap and rape people, or burn our crops, they're very hateful people it seems, this is what they do. And even worse things too, it's on the news every day. Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 17 October 2025 7:03:04 PM

Well unfortunately Indy we don't have communist central planning.
And we've all been finger wagged about being racist, so we can't be nationalists anymore, waving the flag is considered divisive. You need to understand that as a modern democracy this means politicians looking after their political donors, and well they can lie about everything else, no consequences it's part of the election cycle, stuff the electorate, what do they know anyway? And given the citizens are just a bag of all sorts now, well they will listen to us even less than they ever did, except when the have to pretend to care. You need to be black or gay if you want to have a say! This is how the modern democracy works. The governments just come out with this new thing about social cohesion, I guess that means the Aussie flag will have to be banned, as obviously it upsets some people. Similar to how some people wish to ban Christmas, since its culturally sensitive, and not politically correct, well stuff them I say. AFP launches National Security Investigations teams to target groups causing harm to social cohesion http://www.afp.gov.au/news-centre/media-release/afp-launches-national-security-investigations-teams-target-groups-causing 'Weaponisation' of Australian flag denounced in wake of divisive rallies http://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-09-03/australian-flag-as-a-symbol-after-march-rallies/105720848 Modern Australia is fun. Indyvidual,
Don’t bother with the Troll. He refers to a multibillionaire and leader of the Free World as a “village idiot” (copied from Rudd; there’s nothing original about Troll 1405) when the Troll himself can’t spell or write properly, and has never read a book. On his hatred of pensioners getting legal entitlements, I said yesterday that his vile attitude was just more proof of his hypocritical claims to be a Green socialist. On the actual topic of this thread, Tony Burke’s has a new title: Minister for Settling Gazans in Australia. Posted by ttbn, Wednesday, 22 October 2025 7:48:07 AM

The land, the air, the water, etc. are not society's creations.
Yuyutsu, Of course not however, the latest rush of economic & ideological migrants don't come here for that ! They come here to exploit & stand over those who created the comforts to live here. Why do you think they don't work on making their own countries a better place ? You can only subjugate another ! Posted by Indyvidual, Thursday, 6 November 2025 11:22:16 AM

I think we have to be cautious about whom we allow to immigrate here because many foreigners have been victims of colonisation and care as much about revenge as they do actually becoming Australian.
They don't want to be a part of what we have, but think its a free fresh place they can change to suit themselves. Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 14 November 2025 3:35:20 AM

https://quadrant.org.au/news-opinions/immigration/whats-mandarin-for-rort/
Up to half of all international students are “gaming” the immigration system.
Many students don't come here for education; they come to stay. After their studies are over, they visa-shop to extend their stays until they get to stay permanently. They work in low-skilled areas that have nothing to do with their qualifications.
That not enough stress is put on English language proficiency before students are admitted to Australia is a problem if they do get work here. Many who speak English “after a fashion” are very hard to understand because of their accents. They “might as well be speaking Martian”.
The ISPO report also admits that there is also a real issue with “cultural fit”, with international students who do not “regularly engage with Australians”, and work with people of their own culture, further degrading their language skills.
The number of these people coming to Australia have increased from 410,000 in 2013 to 925,000 in 2025.
Even if they don't try to stay, 78% of students respond to the “pull factor” that allows them to compete - often much cheaper - with locals for work. And it's no secret what they have done to housing availability.
But, who listens? Certainly not the uniparty, nor their unelected ‘advisers,’ who are always there, pulling the strings, no matter who we vote for
