Returning to Australia after four years in the US, journalist Adam Creighton feels that there has been an intellectual vacuum in “right of centre” politics for some time; and the Liberal Party “doesn't seem to know what it stands for”, while the Nationals “have some idea”.

At the moment, the Liberals are more worried about the 30% pay rise for whomever Lady Ley appoints to the shadow ministry than they are about Australians and the country. They will move further to the Left, do anything to get the good jobs, I believe.

ttbn,

Calling all and sundry DILLS.... Well, well, well, are you not the DILL who in 2019 was singing the praises of Corny Banana, and his Australian Conservative Party? Did you not say you had made a substantial contribution to the cause, a whole fortnights aged welfare maybe. The contribution was used to fly CB and his cronies around the countryside, dining on the best lobster and champagne a la carte , living it up five star! There was the Old Fart supporters living off baked beans and dry toast. As for CB and his party, it scored half a percent of the popular vote then it promptly disappeared up its own a-hole, along with all those contributors hopes and dreams. The poor Old fart supporters have been crying in their beer ever since! Pot-kettle-black.

Is this bloke in Cloud Cuckoo Land; "the only hope for a conservative alternative is the Nationals standing against them (Liberals) in every seat." Candidates from the Cow Cocky Party would be an unelectable nuance in the majority of seats, with a minimal vote in a 3 way contest. Obviously like with most things, the old fella has no basic understand of politics. One thing is clear the Tories are a bunch of rabble totally unelectable. With their poor leadership, and hopeless policies, they should spend the next decade in the political wilderness.

I agree with law professor James Allan, writing about the “mess” the Liberal Party is in:

“Three years ago you’d have been laughed out of any room if you’d have said that the nondescript, few observable accomplishments, from the far-left of the party room Sussan Ley would be a future party leader”.

And, that she would be allowed to stack the shadow cabinet with the most Labor-lite MPs “ever seen in the Party's history”.

Allan claims that he knew from day one that Malcolm Turnbull would be a disaster (true), and he feels the same about “Team Ley”.

Unfortunately, James Allan continues on to recommend that has-beens John Howard and Tony Abbott should be listened to, when there are ample supplies of young conservatives if the has-beens would step aside.

Some dopey donors to the Liberal Party are reported as urging the dying party to “negotiate” with the Albanese Socialist government on the superannuation tax.

Apart from the fact that the government is in a position where it doesn't have to negotiate with anyone, the Liberals should be opposing the rotten deal. Opposing is their job.

They can't stop the Socialists, given that they have control of the Senate, but a little bit of backbone would indicate to voters that the Liberal Party might still have some use.

But, guess what? The Liberals are ‘divided’ on what they should do!

Dear old Bronwyn Bishop. Same age as I am, therefore an ‘old fart’ according to disrespectful grunters lacking language skills, rightly says that the Liberals should not be doing deals with Socialists out to steal from the superannuated.

If the Liberals had any sense at all, they would be getting ready for the next election and undertaking to repeal the legislation if elected. They should also be thumping away at it, explaining the theft, when Parliament returns.

I read an article yesterday by an American female sounding off about old people. She was complaining about the same things I was when I was young and stupid like her.

Someone once said that he thought his father was pretty dumb but as he, the son, got older, it was amazing how much his dad had learned
