Shadowminister,

So the No campaign celebrations were invite only and featured Gina Rinehart along with expensive champagne.

What other mining influencers were there?

Well for a start there was the chairman of Fuse Metals which is shortly to go public targeting an ASX listing in December. One of the major investors is Gina Rinehart's son and they are aiming to raise 10 million at the company's mining leases in both WA and QLD.

That chairman's name?

Warren bloody Mundine.

So you go and get all naked and play whack the millionaire, but know this, the backers and the faces of the No campaign were drenched in self interest.

These are the people you are championing.

SR,

Firstly, this was one of the many celebrations most of which were not millionaires. Secondly, if I was throwing a No celebration, I would like to keep out the trashy Yes activists. And finally, none of these people got $550m in taxpayer funds.

Notably, most of the Yes activists were wealthy and deeply motivated by self-interest.

Also, the strongest No areas were mostly Labor majority areas.

SteelRedux,
You mean the largely revenue providing were in the No camp unlike the Yes camp that is entirely revenue-depleting ! Mostly though it was those "stupid" ones who voted No as they're not "educated enough" as that git from the Project said. What the YES crowd will gradually have to come to grips with is that their overstepping the mark has shown them up as the parasites they are.

The Voice was about having more of the same, with the beneficiaries enjoying constitutional protection for their gravy train. Now that the no vote has prevailed the yes supporters have pulled down the shutters on understanding the problems (no royal commission into indigenous child abuse) and ensuring that the money is being properly spent (no audits). I very much doubt that such measures would cost $450 million.

With all the fanfare and abuse that went on, I think that some reckoning and resolution is in order. The problems are still there and the urgency for solving them has not changed.

The Left have always been poor losers. Leave them to the counsellors that they have been offered to sort them out. If they are public servants in Queensland, they can have 5 days paid stress leave to help with the shock of of being in the minority again. The Yes vote was only about 3% more than than the ALP primary vote at the election. Don't know what made them think the Voice would be a goer, particularly after Albanese has pretty much wrecked the economy and made it tough going for the majority of Australians, while the aboriginal industry is still getting $40 billion p.a that we know about. Almost half a billion on the referendum, and all that money from Big Business and Big Sport. I wonder if there will be anything left to pay for the Australian 11 to get their counselling.
