If we had true equality in this country there wouldn't have been a need for a Voice.
The inequality in terms of life outcomes experienced by Indigenous Australians hasn't suddenly evaporated away.
That the majority of Australians have decided they were uncomfortable that a Voice to parliament as a means of tackling the stark disadvantage experienced in a given.
But many more Australians have greater awareness of the deep challenges faced by so many of our Indigenous brothers and sisters and support for action to secure better targeted spending to strive for true equality in this country will continue to grow.
