No referendum has ever succeeded without bipartisan support so when Albo rejected Dutton's reasonable request for compromise it was clear that this referendum would be a spectacular defeat. That Labor pressed ahead with this $400,000,000 boondoggle shows contempt for Australians struggling with the Labor's cost of living crisis.

The question is now whether Albozo should stay in office. Already his approval rating has plummeted, and while the polls still favour labor the trend is that the gap is closing and there is speculation that Albo will get knifed just as Rudd did.

Enjoying the company of Voice supporters who were burning Israeli flags and calling for the gassing of Jews won't help him either.

It's not just Albanese, it's Labor as a whole. The present but long into the future ranging mess is proof of the incompetence of Socialist idealism pushed by Govt coffer emptying Academia !

The cost of this divisive, race based and totally unnecessary referendum will probably be one of the things on the minds of voters 'doing it tough' when they are forced into the polling booths to decide on something that means sweet FA to most of them.

Albanese is an idiot with a tin ear; it is to be hoped that he will be rotting on the back bench after this weekend. Lord knows what he would be replaced with. Shorten? There's not much available.

I think that it is Albanese, not Labor in its entirety. The man is a Trotskyite dictator; a man with a chip on his shoulder, unfit for any position above union shop steward.

A couple of things need clarification.

Firstly - It's unfortunate that media coverage has focused
on a tiny fringe of vile attendees at the pro-Palestinian
rallies in Sydney. The slurs came from only a handful of
agitators. Mostly young teens who were dealt with. Arab
and Muslim elders found their behaviour disgusting and
have condemned it. The organizers of the rallies - the
Palestine Action Group have also voiced their disapproval.

As for the Voice to Parliament? The initial proposal
back in 2017 - the concept was rejected at the time by the
Liberal-National Turnbull government. In October 2019 -
the Liberal National Morrison government wanted the proposal
legislated not enshrined in the Constitution.

A co-design process organised by Ken Wyatt was completed in
July 2021. The Morrison government did not pass any
legilsation between July 2021 and the election in 2022
when the Labor government got elected and Albanese kept
his election promise to go ahead with the Voice.

The Voice has a mixed history as far as the Coalition is
concerned. Push and pull. And blaming the cost on Labor is
somewhat disingenuous - when the Coalition is saying that
if the Voice fails in the referendum - they intend to have
another referendum. Double the cost?

Odd beaviour to say the least.

I can say the elitest Voice will fail miserably because YES keeps aboriginals a victim of the past forever. Besides, it will allow radical communists or Muslims to marry into aboriginal families and gain control of the national agenda by their uncontrolled lobbying in the name of sacred sites.

The $360,000,000 spent on the referendum could have built houses for aboriginals in need and elevated them from tin sheds.
