They said he held the Bible upside-down
Which, they said, proved he was a clown
But unfortunately you see,
Turns out the clown was me
But don’t mention it, I’ll have a meltdown
Privately I wish I wouldn’t fall for fake news.
When I find out I’m wrong it gives me the blues
But I’ll stoutly deny it
I’ll ignore and defy it
And hope no one notices I’m a goose.
It’s so easy to check out the facts.
To avoid the inevitable impacts
Of getting it wrong
And looking the nong
Then just hoping no one reacts
But it’s even easier I’ll hold
To just believe what I’m told
Avoid that pesky fact-checking
That work and extra truth vetting
and then pout when my errors unfold
