No Linda Reynolds clearly told a porky and got pinged for it. Her staffer was able to show up the lie to the satisfaction of the court and now Reynolds has recanted.

Whether she can claim she was 'dreaming', imagining it' or 'fantasising' instead of outright lying is up to Reynolds herself. The rest of us will form our own views.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. People's memories are not perfect and mistakes are made over a year and that Reynolds recanted does not mean that she lied on the stand.

Higgins however, was caught making several deliberate lies over time and on the stand and tried to jail an innocent man to further her career. The problem with the huge payout she got was that there was justification for it other than a political payout.

Reynolds and Lehrmann can prove that they were lied about and defamed and are due compensation.

The trial was aborted due to the malfesence of a juror and the victim understandably decided she was not up to going through a second trial particularly because her counselling notes were given to the defence and her private texts have been continuously leaked to hostile media.

That does not render a verdict of innocent rather one of not proven.

That he seemingly has other cases to answer is notable.

He was also caught lying to police on numerous occasions and his account was deemded unreliable.

I don't see how sharing a paper showing numerous women to be liars should render a mistrial.
