Dear Fester,

John Howard used the race powers in the Australian Constitution to give validity to his Intervention.

He has to suspend the Racial Discrimination Act to do it.

You may well claim to: "take great pride in the democratic and legal equality of all Australians" but where was your pride then? Did you protest? Did you use the word apartheid to describe it?

Or it is really just come down to the fact you see yourself as one who might be "disadvantaged" in some minute way by the Voice and that is the reason for your hue and cry?

"A system that treats one citizen differently from another on the basis of race or heritage, regardless of how benevolently it may be intended, will always be a hard sell, especially those who would be disadvantaged."

I'm looking at France right now and I wonder just how good multiculturalism and immigration policies really are.
You let all these immigrants in, and sometimes it's not the ones you let in but the next generation or even the next;
And then you have all these foreign ethnicity youths, who hate the country, and expect everything as an entitlement and they run smashing burning and looting everything they possibly can.

That will be our country soon.

"Can those of you who are so against the Voice tell us
how will the Voice impact adversely on your lives?"

There's no fine print Foxy, it's a blank cheque.
Like all the other pc bullcrap, once they get a toe in the door, they'll shift the goalposts.

I intend to vote no.
The government wants to manipulate us with emotion.
Which is why I'll stay true to myself, and consider with reason.

I don't think it's a good idea to give one lot of people different rights to the others.
As a white Australian (with a little indigenous) with (white) history on this continent for generations I'm already spat upon as compared to some brown faced immigrant who was here 10 mins, and who gets all the nations benefits and handouts.

If I were to weigh up what I stood to gain from 'The voice', and what I stood to lose, then it's obvious I stand to potentially lose far more than anything I stand to gain.
Why would I support something that doesn't benefit me?

This country has become racist against whites, with ethnic quotas, championing immigrants (corporations fear supporting whites) and mass handouts while white Aussies sleep in cars and tents with kids, but the government can always find another 100 million for Ukraine or some other stupid gay / immigrant cause.

You want to dress in drag and read stories to primary school kids FUNDED
16 year old Johnny has been groomed by queers and thinks he's a girl and wants his penis amputated FUNDED

Victim of government policies and youth crime, cost of living, and housing shortage TOO BAD
We gave all the money to foreigners, the immigrants kids broke into your house stole and wrecked your car, the high cost of everything has spiraled out of control because the government kept spending what it didn't even have, and there's no social housing because refugees / immigrants get a higher priority.

Ultimately I don't care too much though, because the country's already wrecked because of our (bent over pulling their cheeks apart) grovelling 'woke' leaders.

SR,

In the wording "But yet there would hardly be a lawyer, or any interested member of the community who did not believe and expect that every representation had at least to be given consideration"

This would mean that every single piece of legislation or regulation at any level of government or public service would have to show that they had given due consideration to the "voice". That is why councils are taking 2 years to approve building consents etc. That is a close to a veto as one can get.
