Perhaps this is a storm in a teacup.
But I would like to know what others think about this 'contretemps'.
My own thoughts run along the following lines....
Almost all young persons will do something rash or in poor taste as they move from being children in to adult life.
It is a necessary part of their growth.
They are finding out what is real and what is not.
To judge their suitability for later life on all or some of their early antics, is quite absurd?
In fact, by making mistakes at the right time, they grow emotionally, and become better citizens.
There is no reason to believe Mr Perrottet was thinking dark thoughts when he went to the fancy dress costume party.
Do we know what prompted him to dress as he did?
The people he represents should be thankful he had such a varied upbringing?
Because of it, he became a better person?
And they chose him because of what he became?
Were we to apply this (crazy) standard to all young persons, half of our the population would be in the dog house?
The truth is: people should be more objective when they assess the importance of what is happening around them?
And they live in glass houses, so should not throw stones.
Unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.
And this time it is not?
