Stephen,
I just hope that your sons mate fully recovers, but I think you are wrong if you believe aboriginals are at more risk than others.

There are plenty of examples of people getting bashed by cowardly groups. Recently a Dr. Cao, a uni lecturer, was bashed to death by a gang with no apparent motive. Only a few days ago, 3 youths were stabbed by a gang of 15 at Parramatta. Media reports of Indian students being targets of bashings and robbery in Melboure and Sydney.
Almost daily there are reports of such criminal activities. I recall a few years ago, a little Asian kid of about 10 was bashed to death in Sydney for riding his bike down the wrong street. Telopia Street i think it was.

Unfortunately, increased violence seems to be the price we pay for, what? A larger population or a multicultural community? Family and community breakdown?

We are left wondering as to the cause of this and where our society is heading.

Whatever the cause, Australia is not the safe place it used to be.

Ozzie, I agree with you 100%. It's time we understood that not all cultures and civilisations are equal, that some are, to put it bluntly, inferior to ours. Too many people think it is our duty as a society to give way to any norm or custom brought to our shores by immigrants, whether legal or not, whether morally/socially/culturally acceptable or not.

We need to wake up. Multiculturalism equals separatism.

"Multiculturalism" has worked to this point in spite of itself - that is, most immigrants have realised, despite the best efforts of the multicultural elite to tell them otherwise, that a society only works when there is something holding it together. That something is Australian culture, and the general success of our immigration program is due to most (not all, but most) immigrants voluntarily subscribing to our culture. And don't try and tell me we have no culture - that is Leftist garbage. The first step in replacing someone's culture is to convince them they have no culture. I refuse to accept that form of brainwashing.

Unfortunately, that compact is breaking down. We have not created a cultural confidence among minorities, but a cultural chauvinism. If we continue to encourage people to believe all their beliefs are equal no matter what, then we lose common ground. Groups will relate to each other, not on common terms, but on their own terms. And that is how we splinter into tribalism. Australian law, Australian culture, Australian values - these must take precedence EVERY time.

Australia & our allies fought a world war to defeat the nazis. Alot of good Australian people died in this undertaking, including aboriginals. These criminals out on our streets who believe they represent the nazi ideal should be treated as the terrorists they are when caught & locked away for a long time. And for those trying to justify the criminal behaviour set upon this young person should be monitored more closely. You are un-Australian & should go to some other country where the nazi ideal is more welcomed by the majority of citizens. Fools, theres no justfication for this violent criminal act. Your only revealing your own racist attitudes & ignorance by trying to justify a violent crime when it suits.

Profiler, I hope you are not including me in those people you think are justifying the attack. I don't believe anywhere I have stated that opinion. What I have tried to state is that I do believe Aborigines and some other ethnic groups cause far more violence than other groups and it is hypocritical to point out just one side of the violence as this article does. We are always hearing about how badly done by the Aborigines are, but whenever they do something bad the media trys to cover it up or blame someone else. I would like the whole situation to be transparent with stats on each ethnic group, but the government and the ethnic affairs departments will not allow this to happen. I firmly believe most of the increasing violence on our streets is due to immigrants ( or children of migrants). If you follow the stories enough and do a bit of digging you will find this to be true in MOST cases.

Profiler, I find it ironic that you decry Nazi ideals while calling for their proponents to be monitored closely. Perhaps we should keep files on them too, tap their phones and drag them into the police station for random interrogations just to let them know we're on top of them.

Wait, I think Belgium already does this.
