So much potential for this thread to get really nasty.

Whilst I've often not liked Stephen's focus on race nothing in this article left me with the impression that Stephen was sugesting that indigenous people were immune to violent gang behaviour. He talked about a situation which was close to his family which brings home the personal harm from what might otherwise be a minor news item.

Yes there is plenty of scope for swapping stories, perhaps someone can respond with a the details of an indiginous person beaten to death not that long ago near Brisbane.

Or we can accept that those who feel on the outer or for some reason who lack hope in their lives can do some really vile things. We could spend our time discussing ways of being safer from gangs. We could discuss some of the things which give violent gangs their appeal and what if anything society can do about it.

Comparatives are useless ...they justify nothing ...all violence is wrong and every incident is different. Keep it real. All people black or white should be safe to walk our streets ...this type of incident is unacceptable to all of us as humans. Lock them up and throw away the key.

I can't see any worth in pointing a finger at 'racist' violence. It's all gang violence, the target/s chosen by a particular gang could be any group, it is a lottery depending on such factors as who is in the news, in close proximity or whatever. Simply by giving any identifiable group publicity you could make them a target at least for a time.

It works the other way too, people tend identify and focus on the existence of ethnic gangs which is equally unhelpful. Membership of a gang can appeal to a member of any cultural group, it is why he joins and what the gang does that are of concern.

Police I have spoken with are frustrated that when they arrest offenders, the courts go light on them and give them too many chances because of family problems and lack of proper example in their environment. Police also say that gang recruits are expected to commit crimes and get arrested to earn their place in the gang.

I totally disagree with this attitude expressed by Cornflower that we should not point out racist violence and that we should not identify ethnic gangs. It is this view that tries to cover up the truth. It tries to express that no particular ethnic groups are responsible, everyone is equally resonsible. That's absolute leftist crap. Just today i saw the Somali community leaders saying that the rest of their community should not be looked upon badly because of the recent developments. Why should't they. I'm sure if some members in their community had made some remarkable achievement they would be claiming praise. Maybe they should be asking questions in their own communities about why this is happening. Asking their members to improve. Explaining to their own members that they are giving their community are bad name. Many ethnic groups ARE more involved in crime, that's the truth. In the USA for instance blacks are 500% more likely to commit murder, yes 500%, a staggering fact but virtually never stated. people need to understand that not all ethnic groups are equal. If you want Australia to be a society like Italy then bring italians here, if you want Australia to be like Germany then bring germans here, if like Somalia then bring them here, etc etc. Look at the type of societies around the world, they are not equal. Most people can't accept this, we have to accept this leftist crap they are all equal. Yes every ethnic group is good, and every ethnic group believes in peace and harmony and 99% of all ethnic groups are law abidding, etc etc, B...crap. Learn the truth.

I think I have given enough info in the first post. Just google Rowe and Geraldton and it will come up easy enough. Sure enough many of the reports barely mention that the group is aboriginal. Can you imagine what would have happened if 20 white people bashed an aboriginal to death. It would have made the news worldwide. This is just how how the media refuses to report all the violence perpetrated by these aborigines. Or should I say as Mr Hagan would say these Black Supremacists.
