The only difference I can think of between Pakistanis and Indians, generally speaking, is their religion. Racially, ethnically, they are from the same stock, South Asians, although they may speak diverse languages. About 80% of the people in India are Hindus, and almost 97% in Pakistan are Muslims. South Asia has a very rich culture and amongst the earliest of civilisation to develop to a high degree. But today why is Pakistan and Bangladesh no better than the many failed states of the third world? The credentials of the spiritual father of Pakistan are indeed admirable. A first rate scholar at philosophy, a graduate of law at Lincoln's Inn. On top of that he had a doctorate from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität at Munich. “Iqbal was a strong proponent of the political and spiritual revival of Islamic civilisation across the world, but specifically in India; a series of famous lectures he delivered to this effect were published as The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam. One of the most prominent leaders of the All India Muslim League, Iqbal encouraged the creation of a "state in northwestern India for Indian Muslims" in his 1930 presidential address” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Iqbal The main difference is that India is a true secular democracy and Hinduism is truly a religion which is treated as a personal thing. Pakistan has a semblance of democracy but Islam is not truly a religion but an ideology steep in superstitious practices, hate, gender inequality, state of denial, and 1001 debilitating factors that retards progress. Corruption by politicains? Both have their share of corruption. Perhaps you might like to consider reading “Muslims: A Shackled People Enslaved by the Koran” from a website by ex-Muslims. http://www.islam-watch.org/Brahmachari/Muslims-Enslaved-by-Koran-Islam.htm Posted by Philip Tang, Friday, 12 December 2008 3:41:11 PM

In the Pakistani newspaper Dawn
http://www.dawn.com/2008/12/12/top6.htm During the course of Dawn’s own investigations last week our reporters were able to locate a family who claimed to be the kin of the arrested young man in Mumbai.... the man who said he was Amir Kasab confirmed to Dawn that the young man whose face had been beamed over the media was his son. For the next few minutes, the fifty-something man of medium build agonized over the reality that took time sinking in, amid sobs complaining about the raw deal the fate had given him and his family. “I was in denial for the first couple of days, saying to myself it could not have been my son,” he told Dawn in the courtyard of his house in Faridkot, a village of about 2,500 people just a few kilometres from Deepalpur on the way to Kasur. “Now I have accepted it. “This is the truth. I have seen the picture in the newspaper. This is my son Ajmal.” Variously addressed as Azam, Iman, Kamal and Kasav, the young man, apparently in his 20s, is being kept in custody at an undisclosed place in Mumbai. Thanks for the tip John Frum
So Syed has tried to create an element of uncertainty by saying in his article "Coming back to recent attacks in Mumbai: in India the law enforcement agencies can make anyone responsible for any crime with the aim of either hiding the facts or avoiding responsibility". Yet here is a Pakistani newspaper, Dawn, advising that the family and home town of Amir Kasab (the Mumbai terrorist captured alive) positively identify him as their Pakistani son. The Pakistani Government and its organ the ISI has been claiming there is insufficient proof of Pakistani involvement. I wonder whether they will choose to recognise the information in Dawn? My American friends are being led to believe by US Government spin that Mumbai was yet another al Qaeda operation - and blame the usual unreachable suspects. At all costs the US cannot ruffle Pakistan that "stay the course" bastion of the War on Terror. AUSTRALIA - AFGHANISTAN On another matter - like Vietnam the longer Australia fights in Afghanistan the longer we win the battles http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/australians-have-taliban-on-the-run/1384490.aspx . An endless supply of battles is guaranteed. We can be proud of our victories but it is a seemingly endless war. As in Vietnam many of the people we are fighting are defending their soil for their own reasons. Futile unreality also exists with the puppet central Government of Afghanistan which has little power or credibility outside the Kabul city area. History repeats itself - billions more will be spent - our soldiers steadily killed - until the US gives Australia permission to withdraw. The Pakistani journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad writing in the Asia Times...
http://atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/JL13Df02.html "India presented Pakistan with difficult-to-deny evidence through US officials soon after the Mumbai attack and made it quite plain that it wanted action against the LET for its links to the attack. One of the 10 attackers admitted to being trained by the LET. The Pakistani media were given directives to label the Mumbai attack a conspiracy hatched by India's Research and Analysis Wing, Israel's Mossad and the US's Central Intelligence Agency to tighten the noose around Pakistan" Najam Sethi, Editor of the Pakistani periodical "The Friday Times"... http://www.thefridaytimes.com/12122008/page1.shtml "President Zardari’s recent statement that “non-state actors want a war between Pakistan and India” is an admission of culpability since most non-state actors of repute in the region are based in Pakistan in pursuit of the Pakistani military’s national security objectives in the region. Our military IS the state and not just an organ of the state; our military fashions national security policy; and our civilian leaders and regimes can challenge its supremacy only at their own peril," Posted by john frum, Saturday, 13 December 2008 11:05:46 AM

Mr Hassan
What a load of rot. You are obfuscating. Until you and your fellow co-religionists come out of denial, nothing will change in Pakistan or India. Your co-religionists who kill non-muslims are doing so because your prophet did so. You and your co-religionists give energy to your prophets message by continuing to hold him up as a saint and bowing towards Mecca, the holy keepsake of Muhammed's mentally deranged message. I feel sorry for you and your people. Posted by Bassam, Saturday, 13 December 2008 11:50:42 AM

No mention of Muslims and jihad against infidels, of course. Is is never Islam's fault, is it? Muslims attack, kill, and cause suffering and this person blames it on India. These terrorists were only doing what Mr Hassan's prophet did.
Here is a quote from the NY Times: There is no sane reason to think Lashkar-e-Taiba would shut down if the situation in Kashmir improved. Its literature is much concerned with establishing a caliphate in Central Asia, and murdering those who insult the Prophet. Its leader, Hafiz Saeed, who lives on a large estate outside Lahore bought with Saudi Money, goes about his business with minimal interference from the Pakistani government. Lashkar-e-Taiba is part of the International Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders (the Qaeda franchise). Mr. Saeed’s hatreds are catholic — his bugbears include Hindus, Shiites and women who wear bikinis. He regards democracy as "a Jewish and Christian import from Europe," and considers suicide attacks to be in accordance with Islam. He has a wider strategy: "At this time our contest is Kashmir. Let’s see when the time comes. Our struggle with the Jews is always there." As he told his followers in Karachi at a rally in 2000: "There can’t be any peace while India remains intact. Cut them, cut them — cut them so much that they kneel before you and ask for mercy."
Remember, the people that support this terror are the same ones that build mosques in Australia and around the world.
Mr Hassan, These people you support and make excuses for killed little children in cold blood, but that doesn't bother you. People like you are beneath contempt.
