"According...declarationofIndependence, governments are instituted among men to secure the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to abolish it."

and the answer to the problem...

first one needs to learn to differentiate 'image of act' and 'fact of act'...eg hitler/nazi government...read his speeches ie 'image '(http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler) and compare with act ie'fact'...one immediately notices the wide discrepancy...so question is what were the people doing while parliament/government/judiciary acting so 'antisocially' on large scale...

leading to question...is if each 'individual of society' own responsibility of ensuring by constant vigilant attention, as an extension of same care they take of their own 'space', that their parliament/judiciary/government they formed 'acts as intented' without developing 'its own personality'...accepts she/he forwards to some other...or worse 'it' to parliament/judiciary/government itself...this fundamental duty...is the essential cause of separation of 'state' from its 'people' with time...yep...if no people then there is no state...and guessing most ordinary prudent person's say yes

so forming of a 'state' by 'people' requires people to be 'active' participants with own clear understanding of where 'point of balanced outcome' is...to head towards...meaning each citizen well educated to practical realities of life...easier then to identify those trying to obstruct/redirect for own benefit and separate from civil society...assuming civil society is what majority of civil population want...so yes...it all starts with our young ones...babies...so organized self-interested group want dominant control over its society logic says attack at 'babies' and on to dumb the population in one life cycle...so especially watch 'physical emotionalhealth/education of children' very carefully...developing skills to get to the 'fact' through the 'image'...yep...feminists attacked this very thing...(child 6 and less separated from their 'positive_emotionally dependent parent/carer' in childcare for extended periods in a day is a very stressed child...)

so palestinian issue...after mass full disclosure and debate...carefully worded national referendum involving palestinians/israeli...separate independant land ie own currency etcx...or separate state with open borders with common good administration...and all children together taught both languages ie arabic/hebrew...I know in fair trusting environment where majority will be...

Thank Christ I am not Palestinian or of German or Eastern European stock. My family are not riddled with guilt or denial and are not restricted in what occupations they can follow, where they can live and work.

GYM_"What right did the Jews have to annex Palestine as 'their' country in the first place, and therefore to make the Palestinian people outcasts in their own country?"
The Jews have lived in Judaea for millennia. Palestine was never a country anyway, and large amounts of the Mandate were stolen by Egypt and Jordan. I don't see you lambasting either country. The so-called Palestinians are largely of Arab descent and therefore descendants of Arab invaders, if they are not descendants of recent Syrian or Egyptian immigrants, attracted to the region by, you guessed it, efficient Jewish agriculture.

There is plenty of archaeological evidence for long-term Jewish occupation of Israel (historically JUDAEA = "land of the Jews"). There is almost none for other peoples, and I find it interesting that you don't mention Muslim claims to Jerusalem, which are extremely tenuous, and only vociferously voiced for around a century, coinciding with claims to "Palestinian" nationhood.

I'm not religious and don't need to consult the Bible or Torah to elucidate moral support for Israel, and I don't need to rely on a wellspring of sentiment over the Holocaust either. Israel is a tiny sliver of productive land surrounded by vast areas of Muslim backwardness. The Israelis are welcome to their tiny parcel of land- the "Palestinian question" is a nonsense thrown up from Muslim pique over losing several wars and another part of "dar-ul Islam"
