But our commitment to the UN processes and the international human rights framework is selective, fragile, and touched with sad irony

Pretty much sums it up. The truth is we have very little to no rights, if or when the Australian government turns its own people. For example ASIO is able to hide behind secrecy acts and ignore individuals basic human rights.
