Yes it has been a tough couple of years - what with having to sleep with one eye open and all. This forum has been most illuminating and it is particularly interesting to read the comments from people who have actually worked with her - I too have witnessed her behaviour close-up and frankly - it ain't pretty.

The fact this forum has become the most popular one on On-Line Opinion is not through some sort of dumbing down of public debate but rather because the Kidman type of media manipulation is what is currently driving social and therefore political trends around the world. Shelley Gare's recent book "The Triumph of the Airheads" is case in point.

De-constructing the Kidman. Interesting. The 'thing' that I don't get about her is the collective attitude by Australians to the construction labelled "Our Nic". It's as if Australians, especially journalists, are mesmerised by her and are unable to exercise any thought or reason or individual opinion of her. The latest blanketing coverage in the news has been a collective outpouring of how good she is to stick by her man. What about her children? And how she is going to accompany him on his Australian tour. What about her childen? How she spent Christmas with him in Australia. What about her children back in the US? Are Australians so easily brainwashed that they can't think for themselves? Or is it the journos at fault here? I think it's the latter. Australians, if questioned, would surely by now be raising questions re the neglect of her children. So what is it with the journalists? I simply cannot understand this blind worship of something that is merely a construction without a live, beating heart, who has no time or maternal feelings for her kids.

I did a little looking into that book AM suggested, "The Triumph of the Airheads" and I think it describes perfectly what happens in society. Especially in the fantasy based world of hollywood. Here in the states were suffering from a delussional president who is about to send more troops into a disasterous situation in Irag, despite the overwelming opinion of the american people. As for Kidman, she is in a industry of shallow, simplistic, group think hacks who simply perpetuate the party line. In the fairy tale world of hollywood, it helps if you have a compelling story, in her case, she married one of the biggest actors around, and then when he dumped her, she played it for all the sympathy she could. So it became compelling for her to succeed, and excel so they simply write that she overcome the "horror" of divorce... shallow , but its a happy ending, for a make believe world like hollywood, so it doesnt matter if she ignores her kids, her movies stink., as long as she plays the game.

Still don't understand why you hate Nicole Kidman.
She was nothing but sweet and giving to me when I was in the worst of my life. She had nothing to gain personally or career wise from helping me at all.

Aside from her maybe snubbing you if you were working with her, what harm has she done you ?
Keep her children out of it. That's just low and cheapens you as a person(s).
