Yes, there are paedophiles in much of society, some of the worse cases have been uncovered in pre-schools, much to our shame. The situation in some indigenous communities is also sickening.

As for socialism, I believe that Jesus was a "socialists" in his own way; "Do unto others as you would have then do unto you" sounds very socialistic. Many early Christian missionaries were socialistic towards native people, sometimes they were very condescending towards them, but did support them as Christians.

I think it always gets back to definitions. Personally, I don't think Jesus was a socialist or a capitalist as such. He spoke very much of the kingdom of God rather than the politics of the day. In saying that He exposed the corrupt religious rulers of the day along with the evil of the Caesar. He did though call for repentance for all people revealing how corrupt the heart of man was/is.

Whatever your political views I guarantee He never endorsed sodomy, cutting breasts of young girls or killing the unborn. He is appalled by people and Pollies who support such evil. Yes, He did indeed address greed, lust, unforgiveness and other heart issues which socialist and capitalist are guilt of. Bottom line is all need to come to repentance not just Catholic Priest paedophiles which you often use in order to deflect from others who are just as filthy.

We don't know what Jesus endorsed or didn't endorse, what we get today is a second hand interpretation and extrapolation of the teachings of Jesus, with the Jesus named added to give it legitimacy. Many people over many centuries have subtracted and added to the Jesus story, some of it good, some simply to justify the accepted social and political norms of the day. The true story of Jesus has been bastardised over the past two millennia to the point where today the truth of what Jesus was preaching in the region of Galilee two thousand years ago is unknown in many respects.

As for politics and religion, at that time the two were totally interconnected, religion was political, politics was religion. Jesus would have preached a religious/political message, which would have brought him into conflict with the authorities, both Hebrew and Roman, which resulted in his execution.

I believe Jesus was a "reformer", wanting to reform Judaism, based on its biblical roots. He was also a preacher of limited social justice as he seen it at the time, somewhat anti-establishment. I also believe as a religious reformer Jesus was not intent on starting a new religion called Christianity, but his objective was to correct the wrongs of his accepted religion Judaism.

Christians can't do it.
For all their claimed morals they can't criticise Israel.
That's the REAL 'morals test' for Christians, denounce what Israel does.

Support a rogue terrorist state that murders women and kids and any journalist who tried to report it, or support what Jesus taught.
Which one is it?
- There's no grey area.

You either set yourself apart from Israeli actions in the spirit of what Jesus taught, or you give what Israel does your tacit approval.

Christians must have some cognitive dissonance going on I think.
