By Alon Ben-Meir, published 10/9/2025The genocidal war in Gaza should put the whole world on notice that this is now simply another episode in the moral collapse of our humanity, as 'never again' has lost its moral weight.

Hi Yuyutsu,
Israeli forces accused of killing their own citizens under the 'Hannibal Directive' during October 7 chaos http://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-09-07/israel-hannibal-directive-kidnap-hamas-gaza-hostages-idf/104224430 "Hannibal at Erez, dispatch a Zik [attack drone]," came the command on October 7. Those words, reported by Israeli newspaper Haaretz in July, confirm what many Israelis have feared since the Hamas attacks on October 7 in southern Israel. Israeli forces have killed their own citizens. Israeli authorities say more than 800 civilians and around 300 soldiers were killed on October 7." Obviously, I wasn't there or party to the events but I heard about all this stuff way back in 2022 as it unfolded. Netanyahu will need to keep a war going somewhere, either Syria or Iran or Lebanon, (while continuing to send IDF into Gaza) the hostages stand in the way of his real aims, he can't take on Iran whilst Hamas and Hezbollah still pose a risk, and the last attack on Iran effectively made Iran stronger and Israel weaker, his foolish claimed 'window of opportunity' to attack Iran while its 'proxies' are weakened is closing. There will likely be another attempted decapitation strike on Iran, but if it fails Israel is probably going to get decimated. This attack in Qatar might be making the Gulf States nervous. Israel and the U.S. has been killing it's enemies under the pretext of attending peace negotiation meetings for some time now. They did it to Soleimani, Nasrallah, Haniyeh. Hamas claims leadership survived Israeli attack in Doha, but confirms six deaths http://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ced58zywdwno "The Palestinian armed group Hamas has said five of its members were killed in an Israeli air strike in Qatar's capital, but claimed that an attempt to assassinate its negotiating team "failed". Hamas said the negotiating team was meeting to discuss the latest US proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip at a residential compound in Doha when it was badly damaged by a series of explosions." This is what America and Israel are doing, invites them to peace negotiation meetings, while someone is hiding behind the front door with a shotgun waiting for them. Dear Critic,
You attribute too many far-reaching intentions to Netanyahu, sinister or otherwise, while he only thinks of himself, of Sarah and of his sons. Netanyahu has to keep a war going, but not because he cares about this or that enemy, about Israel, about territory (though some of his coalition partners do) or about winning or achieving anything - he just needs to keep the war going indefinitely, anywhere. He cannot stop because his personal survival is at stake. This war is only a derivative reflection of Israel's internal strife: the Arabs, "Palestinians", America and the rest of the world are just instrumental pawns and not really a side to it. That so many others suffer for it is incidental and if America under Trump happens to have similar interests, that is also incidental as Netanyahu would not hesitate to stab even Trump in the back if that's what his selfish motives dictate. I find this hard to believe:
Hannibal was outlawed in Israel and standing IDF orders forbade it: if anyone were to be caught doing this Hannibal thing, then they would be charged with murder and spend the rest of their life in prison.
With that many returned hostages and Nova survivors, it begs why no such accusations were made by them.
There was one well-known case, and just one, of a tank ordered to shoot at the ROOF a house in order to expose the terrorists that were there and try saving the hostages inside. It resulted in one person wounded.
Sporadic cases of misidentification in the thick of battle did occur, but not many.
