Albanese's 'productivity' summit: a political show with no substance : Comments

By Scott Prasser, published 22/8/2025

Rather than attend, the Opposition should have run its own summit — a true government-in-waiting would set the agenda, not follow it.

Hi Yuyutsu,

There are many examples of achievement by our black brothers and sisters, despite the racism of people like Indy, who will denigrate Aboriginal folk as being worthless in his eyes.

"As far as I (Yuyutsu) am concerned, much of what I suffer from today is due to the non-spontaneous and unjoyful over-productivity of others." I agree there is much greed in our society, as people demand more and more of the pie for themselves, and are unwilling to share with others.

p/s There was about 20,000 people at the Palestinian protest in Brisbane on Sunday, very peaceful. There were a few neo-Nazi's around trying their best to stir up trouble, but it was a very peaceful protest. There was even a Jewish group there, trying to promote peace in the Middle East, good on them for standing up for what is right.

Dear Paul,

I certainly agree with your last post, all three paragraphs,
but none of them, nor Indyvidual's response, addresses my original point, which is that I oppose this whole crazy concept of "productivity".

(p/s)
More and more Israelis are refusing to serve in Netanyahu's army, risking jail - I am proud of them, and the army's chiefs too oppose Netanyahu and though obeying orders for the time-being, tell him that what he asks of them is impossible. Netanyahu's behaviour is bringing undue shame to Jews, including in Australia, where the Jewish communities had to go underground.

Thanks Scott Prasser for the article.

All civilizations need to be able to support their own productivity, it seems that there is creeping death spreading through Australian society.

We need to be more self sufficient even if it is more expensive. One way to do this is by consuming and investing and producing durable goods. Bad principles lead to pain in the long term even if you think you can avoid the responsibilities of your consumer decisions in the short term.

If fresh vegetables are too expensive at the supermarket, eat dried vegetables, and cut the supermarkets out.

Don't consume and support businesses that don't employ or support you or your children, or that support policies against you. If you don't know how, find out.

It's seems that Scott Prasser is correct as the Australian Labor Party's economic policy is about taxing more rather than more productivity. Taking a bigger part of the pie rather than using their leadership expertise to create a bigger pie.

At some point you have to ask does the ALP even know what leadership is? Idiots and ambulance chasers. It seems that the ALP wouldn't get the people to work, by making the trains run on time (because that requires effort, and the ALP wants to create more dependency anyway), but by crashing the train, and in the smoke complain about how bad the train crash is, people would forget about getting to work
