The Anglo unilateralists strike : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 20/9/2021

It would have been more accurate to say that President Donald Trump's coarse, business board room model was simply too much of a shock for those familiarly comfortable with guile, deception and dissimulation.

Thankyou Joe, Boris and Scott for providing us Covid crippled aussies with with a double slam that not only has pissed off the French and the Chianese, but managed to provide a distraction for the Greens away from their climate cultism. Great job and great uncle Joe would say "Come on man".

Now lets get serious and build nuclear power stations to save the Planet form that nasty, "poisonous" carbon dioxide stuff! Whoopee!

About time.

Conventional subs are only useful for local off shore protection and pretty much useless at projecting power. In protecting Aus trade routes against a Chinese fleet and limiting China from projecting power nuclear subs are the only choice.

Continuing with the French contract would simply be throwing good money after bad.

Spot on Shadowminister.... and the best bit about this deal, is that these subs will easily integrate into the US and UK navy systems AND, the USA/UK will not want the Chianese to defeat or capture this advanced technology, so they will try to support us in the inevitable economic and border conflicts that Chiana has planned for OZ.

As for the rubbish French stuff, they know its crap AND,.... they would give a damn if Chaina invades Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines of little old Ozzy philistines!

Guess what Binroy? I don't give a brass razoo if you don't like liberal democracies or all things American? If you don't share our values? Then leave! What this country needs as never before is solidarity and unity!

What we don't need is fifth colonists seeking division or to sow the seeds of sedition? Not saying, you know. But if the cap fits?

I was utterly amazed that Turnbull's ludicrous conventional sub deal was not canceled the moment he was chucked out. After all it was simply a trick to buy him election as PM, when seats in SA looked dodgy.

There was never any reason for us to build diesel powered subs, other than Turnbull's fear that ordering nuclear subs could cost a few wavering greenish votes.

Thank god sanity has prevailed. Morrison is looking a bit better. First telling the French to go jump, with their push to force us to abandon coal mining, & now this sub deal. Could he actually be growing the ability to handle the job?

This latest attempt at bully-boy warmongering by Biden, Johnston and Morrison would be laughable if its ramifications weren't so serious. What is it with little boys and their obsession over big submarines? Where is even the most rudimentary awareness of the huge environmental risks of these nuclear monsters polluting our oceans and creating toxic waste we're selfishly bequeathing to future generations, let alone the security risks of such needless provocation and one-upmanship? AUKUS has just cemented Australia's reputation as fawning sycophant to the US and has irrevocably stamped our country as a subservient and ever-expanding military target. Morrison is totally out of his depth. His so-called 'standing up to China' is the action of a fool.
