So here's were we stand today as a society. A clearly disturbed women makes accusations against a prominent member of society...accusation which cannot be proved or verified in any sense either criminally or civilly. In other words, the accusations are, for all we know, the rantings of a deranged and vengeful mind. Equally, for all we know they may be true. But we'll never know.

Said prominent member of society is hated by some members of society because he is (1) a he and (2) a member of a disfavoured political group. So people who have been given a big megaphone on the public purse decide to use the rantings of the clearly disturbed women to destroy the prominent member of society. And mission accomplished.

As a society, we are now at the point where any prominent member of society can be destroyed at the whim of those with a big megaphone irrespective of the facts and irrespective of any ability or even attempt to establish the facts.

It may not be the society we want, although I suspect many on the left are more than happy with how this has turned out. They of course always fail to remember that these same new rules will one day be used against them. The revolution always eats its own.

The same new rules were also used to destroy Michael Johnsen, another prominent member of society who was in a disfavoured group. The facts there were so flimsy that they could only be repeated under parliamentary privilege. Still, they got their man.

And then we wonder why we can't get better people to put their hand up for election. Any conservative person with a dick would be insane to consider politics while-ever the ABC is allowed to run amok.

The ABC and Louise 7-nil-again had an agenda from the outset. They had the aim of destroying their man and helping their favoured side and they did it with ruthless efficiency. They hide pertinent facts demonstrating just how deranged the accuser was. They encouraged the outrage mob if not actually creating it. They egged along, if not openly endorsing the claims that the women had been killed rather than committed suicide.

They (the Insider programme for one) called for Porter's sacking based on what they now admit was unproven and unprovable accusations.

They weren't just reporting the facts. They were creating a story-line based on deranged fantasies and then using that as a political weapon to advance their favoured side.

Its a disaster for the nation, comparable, in the long term, to the lockdown fiasco.
