With the US imperium responsible for fostering numerous revolutions and coups across the globe during its history, spikes of schadenfreude could be found.

Yes, agree entirely, attempted impeachment at this late stage would only be an expensive diversion of time and resources which would be much better spent on preparing for good governance after Biden's inauguration. Furthermore, I also agree that it would risk creating martyrdom for Trump and only embolden his rioting supporters to further violence.
And as for the schadenfreude, yes, very understandable if people all around the world who've seen their democratically-elected governments overthrown as a result of US-instigated coups, do now indulge in a little pleasure at seeing their oppressor now similarly disposed. I doubt most in the US would even recognise the irony of calling this latest storming of their Capitol a 'coup'!

Bringing an immediate impeachment against Trump will neutralise him over the next couple of weeks in the lead up to Biden's inauguration and send a message to his redneck hillbilly thugs that violence will not be tolerated.

Maybe? but given the administration is effectively changed every 2 years with the president changed every eight for sure, that's is hollow strawman argument With other administrations elsewhere doing far worse to the point the US with all its faults, looks like the bastion of freedom it remains.

As for the 25th, should have been used within hours of the armed violence and the deaths of four people. As the house was stormed by Hr Trump's acolytes, many who were recognised and identified as known neo-Nazis!

That it wasn't, speaks volumes! Pence will be remembered as will the republicans who allowed this would-be tyrant to remain in power when he was first impeached! Allowed the abuse of power the witness tampering/quite blatant injustice. The man is out of his tree!

AS for Biden don't expect too much for this word-smith as he "reaches across the aisle" to ensure the establishment, i.e. corporation Dems and republicans continue with the sham that has been self-evident since the removal by force of arms of JFK!

Don't ever expect the Dems who effectively control both houses to outlaw voter suppression or gerrymanders, all that keeps the Republicans in power, just about anywhere, these days?

And so the sham continues as does all the other probs that are the new normal as corporate America continues to rule the free world? Where a couple of dollars worth of powder/medicine can be sold to the ever gullible US citizens for thousands!

And as far as it goes, just the tip of the iceberg of widespread corruption? Compare Switzerland, which has as many guns in private hands as America, with the USA. And the level of gun violence in either!

Wt here for our part can chart a new course and our independence if we have the courage and good sense to remove the sycophantic quislings who currently provide the Corporate world with its control here! Just don't hold your breath waiting for a hopelessly divided nation to do any of that? Which would only be possible, if ever, if all preference voting were optional!

Who does the Capitol Building belong to?
And what does one half of the population do when they have lost all faith in the institutions that make up their country?
And what does the Declaration of Independence have to say about it?
