In many countries coal will end not because of the greenies but
because of energy return on energy expended.
The US and Germany are close to that level. We have probably by
various reports got multiple 100s of years of coal if we stopped
exporting it.
Here is a proposition for the ABC/Greenies;
We stop exporting coal and use it in our own power stations until the
ERoEI gets to 7. Then we will replace it with the cheapest source
be it nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, wind, solar whichever is the
cheapest and reliable at the time.
That would reduce the amount of CO2 released if that worries them.
