By Binoy Kampmark, published 7/8/2020

Overt political opinions, notably when expressed in a manner that might threaten brands and compromise lines of funding, are being hunted down by cadres of paranoid officials.

Haw haw...

Don't you just love it, when the left leaning gate post falls over and collides with the right post, taking gate and all with it.

Are we looking for sympathy here Mr Kampmark?
None from this little black duck.
It's actually quite a joy to observe the feeding frenzy turning onto itself for nourishment.

All the best on the downward spiral.

BK seems to have finally discovered what most of us have known since universities became 'export' industries for Chinese students and came under CCP influence.

UQ actually issued "Freedom of Speech" talking points for staff.

The first three fibs are, "Sorry, I'm not across the details of the issues you're raising". "UQ is an active defender of freedom of speech", and "Google UQ Model Code for Freedom of Speech". You couldn't make it up.

The wrecker Hoj, meanwhile, was rumoured to return to Adelaide, as Vice [sic] Chancellor there. You couldn't make that up either.

I think I agree wih ttbn's take on this one. And note that the Vice-Chancellor had to remind us of his principled stand on renewable energy during the 80's oil crisis. That was what, nearly fifty years ago?

But not as long as we've known about VASTLY CHEAPER, CARBON- FREE, MSR thorium and its child, bismuth 213.

Bismuth 213, if we made it here, via MSR thorium, would unlock a medical tourism trade of around a million folk a year and be worth billions annually. All in foreign exchange.

Indeed, much more than replace everything we now get from Chinese students! Except the barely veiled hostility and overt bullying of pro-democracy Chinese students! TBC.

The swamp must be really starting to dry out or it wouldn't be possible for these large cracks to even start to appear in it's surface.
