Why thinking makes it so: Donald Trump’s Obamagate fixation : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 25/5/2020

Obama had, supposedly, committed 'the biggest political crime in American history, by far', one that made 'Watergate look small-time'.

Trump got away by the skin of his lying teeth. Guily of sin though.

Dear mhaze,

You write; "That there was corruption within the Obama administration to spy on political rivals and attempt to overturn an election is now fairly clear."

No it isn't at all so why claim it?

"No it isn't at all [clear that corruption occurred in the Obama WH] so why claim it?"

Well it probably isn't clear to anyone clueless enough to list all the people indicted by Mueller's controllers but to those of us who aren't blinded by TDs, clarity is apparent.

Of those indicted none, other than the Russians, were related to election interference.
And the Russians were indicted on the assumption that Mueller would never have to prove his case.
When one of the Russians actually decided to defend themselves in a US court, Mueller's team couldn't drop the indictment fast enough.
Oh, and for the clueless, its now apparent that the whole yarn about the Russians hacking the DNC server has fallen apart since Crowdstrike admitted that they didn't actually have any evidence of that.

Anyone even tangentially acquainted with the facts now knows that there isn't and never was any evidence of Trump-Russian cooperation in regards to the election. That the whole story was concocted in an attempt to overthrow an elected government.

As to the drip-drip of damning data about the shenanigans in the Obama WH, the next shoe to drop will be the investigation into Sullivan's attempts to override the DOJ dropping the Flynn prosecution.

But the real fun will be the release of Durham's findings.

SR,

So after a 2yr multi $m investigation they found nothing on collusion, but caught a few small fry mostly on completely unrelated issues.

It would be like having the RC into child abuse finding zero abuse but claiming it was a success for issuing 1000s of parking tickets.

The Ukraine investigation was also a wildly overhyped bust. And now I believe that Joe Biden has been named in a criminal probe into corruption in Ukraine?

No it isn't so why claim it. Even the most forensic of political commentators are utterly bemused by this idiocy.

Just another of Trump's cowardly distractions.

Ho hum.

A sad and sobering day for America, as their coronavirus death toll passes 100,000. Unfortunately Donald Trump is trading the lives oh his fellow citizens for the profits of Corporate America.
