the election of Arden just indicates how dumbed down our bro's have become. She along with many of the Maori's being used as useful idiots by Islam over then recent eco facist attack on muslims. Must admit Binoy, you certainly surprised on this one. Lego is obviously right. Leftism and Islam though both totalitarian systems are showing strains of fracture. Main problem is the young leftist are so full of themselves that they refuse to admit their gross errors. The best they can do is call those who warned them 'haters' and islamphobes'.

Hi Alan,
That's a bit disingenuous, to cite the Sufi version of Islam: the question is, whether or not Islamist terrorists, in their multitudinous forms, use the Sufi version of the Koran or some more 'militant' or 'radical', more violent, more 'eye-for-an-eye' version. I'm impressed with the little that I know of them, of the Sufi and Ahmaddiyah forms of Islam, and their reliance on the earlier Mecca verses in the Koran, before Muslims got much power and could write and implement the more 'active', 'robust' Medina verses. Since they are persecuted by ratbags in countries like Indonesia, Pakistan and Iran, there must be something worthwhile in their principles. I wonder if Cat Stevens ever raised his voice in protest against the Islamist atrocities of ISIS or al Qaida ? Ever ? Joe Posted by Loudmouth, Monday, 1 April 2019 3:27:08 PM

Good question Joe. And thank you for correcting my spelling of Sufi. Which as a tradition incorporated meditation and to my limited knowledge, peaceful cohabitation.
I believe the newer versions and highly revised and edited versions of the Qoran is that the Islamist radicals use to justify their terrorist activities. And represent a vocal recalcitrant radical minority, still trying to fight the long-dead crusades, and redrawn boundaries. [Drawn up by the victors of WW11! And done to make the exploitation of the Middle East oil reserves easier!?] Or make folk that were never there or in any way responsible for any of the above! To pay for the perceived sins and failings of other folks who also allegedly had white skin, but in truth and judged on their actions alone, black hearts? Be they Knights Templar or oil oligarchs!? I believe the Sufi tradition are peaceful and peace-loving cohabitants and have lived among us since the first Afghan camel drivers came here to lay the early telegraph. Their Mosques, belief system, religious practise and history are both open to inspection and welcome! Nothing to fear from these folk who have assimilated so well, impossible to distinguish them from any other fair dinkum Aussie, and could be the fair-minded, decent mate you went to the footy with or shared a beer with at the last neighbourhood B-B-Q. RadicalIslam is as much their enemy or more so than ours! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Monday, 1 April 2019 4:25:39 PM

Yusuf Islam has blamed the media and has stated unequivocally that he did not support a call for Rushdie to be attacked. You are inciting hatred. He played in my city where an Aussie killed fifty people, including the child who was a friend of my son's. Have some grace and have some shame. Do not contribute to hatred. I long ago tried to argue with lunatics on the forum who excused their strident calls for violence and their racism and now I realise I don't want anymore of this filth to permeate my brain. Educate against violence and look to peace. Why do you think that good, humble man sang 'Peace Train'? Oh and I lived in the Middle East where I found more tolerance and less racism, in both Qatar and Bahrain than I do in Australia. Advance Asutralia unfair is all you seem to be good at, and your failure to analyse how you produce a killer while analysing a man who has never hurt a soul, is pathetic.

dinkum, there are elements of truth to all sides, "if Mr Rushdie turned up at his doorstep looking for help, Yusuf stated ‘I might ring somebody who might do more damage to him than he would like. I’d try to phone the Ayatollah Khomeini and tell him exactly where this man is’" We need people on all sides both to denounce violence in the name of any ideology and denounce it against any ideology. Alan B said;
There is no place in Islamic philosophy for the spilling of a single drop of innocent blood Really ? Then this; Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (2:191) It is blasphemy to alter the Koran and is punishable with death. The Koran always gets quoted when moslems kill non moslems. Kill them if they do not convert or pay the Jiyaz tax. Alan I thought you were a more logical a person before this post. Now I am very disappointed. Posted by Bazz, Monday, 1 April 2019 11:17:01 PM
