I'm rather suspect about this “repression of sexuality” thing. With events such as Blokesworld, or women going to male stripper shows etc, it becomes “look but don’t touch”, or “look but don’t speak”. It becomes voyeurism, which I don’t think is true sexuality, or if it is sexuality, it is rather shallow or artificial sexuality.
But the commercialism of sex or sexuality eventually means pictures of semi-naked celebrities in magazines for young girls, or articles for young girls titled “Making Out Master Class” etc
This is now happening, and that is where the overt commercialisation of sexuality eventually ends up. But I think those children would be much better learning to play the piano, building cubby houses, playing sports etc
