By Jason Beale, published 30/11/2018

Apparently intended as a social men's group for Trump supporters, Proud Boys has since spread internationally.

A statue of a commander on horse is not a war grave. The sentiment is almost opposite . A tombstone never shoots an Afro but white cops who ride horses and army combat vehicles do . Often.

Oh, That's right, Toni. I forgot I was dealing with a sterling example of the easily offended snowflake generation.

Don't worry, I will put your name on my OLO drop kick list, which is a list of those posters who are not worth engaging with or replying to. Won't bother with you again.

Your name will be my third on the list. Top of the list is insanenamenick.

The Confederate Statues debate dovetails with the trend to soften and sanitise the real history of the Civil War. The phony re-write argument that it was somehow only about "State Rights" is misleading and it was always really about their right (moral and economic) to own slaves.

While there were undoubtedly heroic and valiant incidents performed during the conflict that doesn't make the war itself worthy of glorification. Saddam Hussein may have "killed his own people" but so did Abraham Lincoln.

Members of right-wing extremist groups in Europe (and Germany in particular where displaying the swastika is forbidden) are using the Confederate flag to publicly identify their members because it represents White Supremacy and rebellion. To some it's a hate symbol and Swedish skinheads often have Confederate and Klan tattoos.

While discussing the quirks of The Proud Boys, other similar and more extreme local groups such as The Lads Society, United Patriots Front, National Action, True Blue Crew, Reclaim Australia and Antipodean Resistance continue to operate and recruit.

Tony Lavis. In a sea of intellectually challenged clowns, your comment had both the ring of truth and authenticity! Nicely spiced with a little all too rare humour!

One might even suggest these cock-ups seem to be heading for a sad dose of premature E.D.
Cheers Alan B.

The Confederate flag copied the Eureka flag of Victoria gold rush.
The Irish and Aboriginal rebels fought the Saxon master race .
Indigenous education officer at Sovereign Hill Richard McLean says there were Aboriginal people known as "native police" who guarded gold miners. Miners who lost gold were known as Stolen Generation.
