Transgenderism: the new feminist battleground : Comments

By Russell Grenning, published 29/6/2018

Back in January, the City of London which manages Hampstead Heath and its ponds decided that the ladies' pond would welcome trans women and that this decision was consistent with the Equalities Act 2010.

Dear Joe (Loudmouth),

Being transgender is different from being a
cross-dresser, who is someone who enjoys
wearing interchangeable clothes associated with
one gender, or another. In simple terms
transgender people are basically born one way,
but psychologically are another.

Many transgender Australians want the two to
align and then just get on with life as their
free-est and fullest selves.

However it
would not hurt to educate people
regarding transgender -
thereby improving certain attitudes.

That would not cause any harm. It may even help
us to understand each other.

Dear Foxy,

I suppose so, but I have other things to do. I really don't care. I suppose I should care about the mistreatment of dogs in Charleville or Nunjikompita too if it occurs. Or the incidence of black spot on camellias. Or the state of the roads around Thargomindah.

Love,

Joe

Loudmouth, good for you.
Your quite right, there are far more, not only important, but relevant things to worry about.
The whole idea of TG has been debunked again and again.
Why we have these people who keep barracking for a lost cause and keep telling us that we should change to accommodate them, is absurd and quite frankly tactless and arrogant.
They refuse to listen to anyone else's opinion insisting they are right and the only ones who have the answers.
Well I won't have it, and anyone else with a modicum of intelligence, maturity and awareness, will understand completely and condemn these snow flakes for their closed minds and narrow vision.

ALTRAV,

Nobody is asking you to do anything except
treat all people respectfully. Which is
something your mama should have taught you.

You're the one displaying a closed mind in judging
people you don't even know or have ever met.
Now that is arrogant - and ignorant.

Dear Joe (Loudmouth),

If you don't care why did you enter this discussion
at all?

Silly me expecting too much from you again.

Dearest Foxy,

At the risk of further involvement in an extremely minor issue, all I really ever wanted to do was point out how insignificant these sorts of issues are in the scheme of things - of course, not to the people involved, but the same might go for train-spotters or stamp-collectors, who would regard their hobbies as extremely significant too. And although I have some sympathy for such hobbyists, being a Sudoku addict, I don't spend sleepless nights worrying about whether the 8.40 from Parkes is on-time, or how many 1876 Grenada upside-down Queen Victorias there might be. Sorry.

Love always,

Joe
