The above is interesting Then others deny it's existance http://www.ravishly.com/2015/01/07/myth-misandry-misogyny-oppression-marginalization In reality though, the average western woman, are the most privileged women in history, apart from the extremely privileged women in the upper classes, or with extremely wealthy dads. Yes, most of the denigration of men in Australia is coming from academics in universities. But out of 28 countries, academics in Australia are 8th in terms of rates of pay. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2012/03/22/new-study-analyzes-how-faculty-pay-compares-worldwide These academics are among the highest paid taxpayer funded people in the world, and they never stop proclaiming themselves to be victims of men. waverley, thanks for the kind words.
I wasn't having a go at feminism really, the Caro reference was more intended as a demonstration of really awful writing and an effort to understand the mindset that might have produced it.
The important point I was trying to emphasise is that language is being deliberately chosen to devalue and exclude by people who are, by any measure, extremely privileged and yet claim to define the Centre.
