One day people will stop making excuses for men or woman bashing each other. People just can't face the simple fact that man is born with a corrupt nature and when it is fed it reacts in an evil manner. Whether it is a woman manipulating and denying a man his natural right to see his children or a pig of a man belting his wife. Using the term 'mental health'is often just an excuse used for barbarity. It never seems to occur to people that men or women carrying out atrocities don't have to have 'mental health'issues. Much of the mental health issues have been created by social engineers who have encouraged kids in schools to sleep with and experiment with as many partners as possible. They are then dumb enough to ask why we have so much bitterness, hate, jealousy which often ends in domestic violence.

A summary of issues with the Duluth model at http://www.batteredmen.com/batdulut.htm
and http://www.researchgate.net/publication/222822395_The_Duluth_model_A_data-impervious_paradigm_and_a_failed_strategy There is plenty of coverage of the Duluth model available on the web. Some serious academic work, some not so much. It's a model put together by activists rather than skilled professions on the basis of ideology rather than evidence based understanding of DV and has a belief in a gendered view of DV at it's core. The feminists are notorious and shameless for their sloppy research.
Contrary to the self-serving mantras of the educated middle class feminists who very largely shield themselves from those outside of their comfy, entitled, self-indulgent lifestyles, life isn't so simple at all, <Grandmother’s horror: my granddaughter living in tent with ice-addicted mother A GOLD Coast grandmother has spoken of her horror and heartache at seeing her five-year-old granddaughter living in a tent with her ice-addict mother and violent partner. Her claims come as a spokesman for child protection agency, ACT for Kids, has warned of the dangers of at-risk children slipping through the cracks of the judicial system. The grandmother, who asked not to be identified to protect her grandchild, said she was desperately concerned that Grace (not her real name) was being neglected and at risk of being hurt by her mother’s boyfriend. She said he was violent and had already served a jail sentence for assault and theft.. The grandmother has reported her concerns to police, the Department of Child Services (DOCS) and ACT for Kids. She said her daughter was an ice addict and had admitted it to her, her brother, aunt and her friends. “She is actually proud of it and Grace’s father is a convicted drug dealer who is in jail serving a term for manufacturing drugs and dealing,” the grandmother said. “My daughter and her boyfriend have been homeless for nearly a year after they were evicted from the new home they were renting. He put holes in nearly every wall and door, and they are now living in a tent.”.. The grandmother said although DOCS had investigated her claims, they appeared satisfied that her daughter and partner were not using drugs. “They said they could find no evidence that the child was at risk. To my knowledge, my daughter and her partner have not been drug tested. As far as I know, Grace is not at school,” she said... tbc Posted by onthebeach, Thursday, 1 October 2015 11:14:47 PM

continued..
<When contacted for comment, a spokeswoman for the [Labor]Minister for Child Safety Shannon Fentiman said the Child Protection Act prevented DOCS or the Minister from commenting or giving any details about any investigations occurring with children or their families. A senior police spokesman confirmed the family in question was known to them and that police had referred the case to DOCS. Meanwhile, the director of a child protection agency has urged concerned grandparents and other family members to keep pushing for intervention to protect at-risk children who are being affected by ice and other drugs...> http://tinyurl.com/o6emw7x The Qld Labor Premier is a woman, as are other senior figures relevant to this case, the Minister for Police, Minister for Justice and Attorney General and the Minister for Child Safety Posted by onthebeach, Thursday, 1 October 2015 11:16:08 PM

The primary reason for domestic violence is cultural. Firstly, aboriginal males are notorious for their violence towards aboriginal females, a fact which was first noted by members of the First Fleet. Governor Phillip himself personally intervened to prevent an aboriginal man from killing a young aboriginal girl. Lieutenant Watkins Tench recounted in his personnel journal about life in the colony with the First Fleet, also told of the extremely violent way which aboriginal men treated their women. He recounted how he had met an very pretty aboriginal girl who showed him the scars of her numerous beatings and spearing's. Things have not changed today, which is why aboriginal woman are so racist, because every high profile aboriginal woman prefers to marry white men.
The Muslim Sydney suburb of Auburn is Australia's domestic violence capitol. This is hardly surprising when you import people into this country who's males have a religious belief that females are just minors, and that men have a duty to physically punish women. But you are never going to see that written in any Australian media, which usually prefaces any articles on domestic violence as "Australia's shame." It is never "aboriginal shame" or "Islam's shame." And the feminist sisterhood is just as bad at ignoring the inconvenient truth. Feminism today is just another socialist ideology which places Australian men as the oppressors and Australian women as the oppressed. Aboriginal and Muslim males may be the primary perpetrators, but he sisters will never admit that. Minorities always get a free pass in socialist groupthink. Examples of poor choices could include alcohol and substance abuse, and inability or more likely lack of self-discipline to handle their daily functioning, including not being able to handle money. When one considers the lack of respect they shown their own bodies, their lack of concern for others, often expressed as violence, is hardly surprising.
It isn't 'poverty' that 'causes' violence.
By contrast, I have met many elderly 'grey nomads' and quite a number of them solo elderly women, many of both with serious chronic conditions, who travel Australia in cheap vans, all with a smile despite the odd impossible-to-hide grimace of pain. Not all pain from physical conditions either, some have been alienated from family who prefer to forget them.
Yet everyone has the benefit of welfare where they need it. Billions of taxpayers' dollars have been spent in the NT and WA on indigenous housing, start-up businesses and farms and so on. There is SFA to show for it, why? Many indigenous get large windfalls every month from miners, but the dough disappears, where? Think consumer items like crates of expensive liquor and ATVs that are trashed and left.
