Lego, your post on revocation of citizenship in Australia is misleading because revocation may occur if you are found to have committed a serious criminal offence prior to gaining citizenship, or otherwise acted in "bad faith" in your application.

The DIAC website clearly says "An Australian citizen by birth cannot have their Australian citizenship revoked. Similarly, a person conferred citizenship, after fully disclosing all relevant factors, cannot have their Australian citizenship revoked."

Hi LEGO,

Is Cory Bernardi a loony lefty?
Conservative Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi has spoken out against plans to strip suspected Australian terrorists of their citizenship, describing it as "absolutely wrong" and "dangerous power creep".
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-06-01/anti-terrorism-citizenship-changes-absolutely-wrong-liberal/6512594

Is Senator Brandis a loony lefty?
According to participants, Senator Brandis, in opposing the plan, told the cabinet meeting: "I am the Attorney-General. It is my job to stand for the rule of law."

Is Barnaby Joyce a loony lefty?
Mr Joyce put to the meeting: "Isn't that what we have courts for?", according to people present.

The cabinet members who spoke against the proposal were Defence Minister Kevin Andrews, Foreign Affairs Minister and deputy Liberal leader Julie Bishop, Attorney-General George Brandis, Agriculture Minister and deputy Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce, Education Minister Christopher Pyne and Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull, according to people present in the room.

"There is room to ask whether Australian national security policy has taken a medieval turn." Medieval, really. What a load of crap.

Meanwhile defend the real medieval force that is wrecking havoc, cutting off heads, crucifying people, and threatening democracy around the world. Defend those using a 1500 year old ideology as justification for their brutality. Yes, real smart, so smart I'll go so far as to call it a fine example of Arab logic.

If you are more afraid of Tony Abbott than you are of ISIS you are a very confused soul. How much freedom do you think you will enjoy under Sharia Law? Do you really think these barbaric tribal marauders give a damn about your Climate Change religion?

Choose your side as you will, but in the distant future when its too late and your grandchildren are forced to recite the Koran and pray five times a day, you'll be wishing you hadn't been so gullible.

LEGO is one of the few on OLO telling it like it is, but why listen to him when you can find a whole bunch of other loony crap to believe.

Time to take a Bex methinks.

You're exactly the type who falls rapidly into step when leaders start tooting a "perceived threat".

http://www.snopes.com/quotes/goering.asp

Goering explains...

"....Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

"There is one difference," I pointed out. "In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Hi Suse

Yes the Abbott Government by hyping dark imminent threats against Australia - which have lead to only One terrorist murder since 1979 - has put the frighteners on us all.

The Monis inquiry is revealing that that guy was no Muslim at all - sought-of a Muslim background but mainly a dangerous nutter seeking attention through a siege.

The vast, vast majority of murderers in Australia (by siege or otherwise) come from sought-of Christian backgrounds.

I'm surprised Poirot, I didn't think you were that paranoid. I could say something about the climate alarmists using the strategies of Goering to rally support for their crusade, but that's probably justifiable in your world?

Plantagenet - what is "sought-of"? Or do you sort of mean something else?
