Is it not so that also in the hands of scientists and its popularisers (the physic’s spin doctors?) what they write is presented as a pretty convincing argument for the Big Bang, quantum physics or relativity ? Although the common folk reading these things have an as naive understanding of physics, its philosophy and the mathematics involved as those illiterate peasants had of metaphysics and Palestrina’s motivation for writing his mass?
