Humans are not genetically programmed to seek a meaning: humans are programmed like any other animal, to survive and multiply. Yes, even to use violence if necessary to achieve those goals.
If we want to find a meaning and self-realisation, we need to overcome the genetic programming of our bodies, not to abide by it.

As for the article:
What is the measure of a human being? its length in centimetres, its weight in kilograms, the strength of its muscles, the number of neurons in its brain, etc.
Therapy does not create self awareness: all it can do is to change unpleasant feelings into more pleasant ones.
<<Imagine, then, a planet populated by powerfully Self-aware individuals who live in harmony with themselves, with others and with nature.>>
That's only the author's dream: other than exceptional individuals who may be born especially and solely to help others, why would self-aware individuals wish to live on a planet in the first place? The world is populated by those who have not yet arrived at self-realisation (which is the same as God-realisation), who instead believe that they are a body, so that they may use their bodily experiences to learn, especially from their unpleasant experiences.
