Hasbeen,
You obviously jump to false conclusions rather readily. I included the links to both the actual study by a German research group and the New York Times visual summation.

I am always keen for people to have the actual information that is available so that they can assess the evidence for themselves.

Professor Bill Mitchell and the associates of the University of Missouri, Kansas City, take the same approach as I do. Modern Money Theory is based on empirical evidence and suggests that people should base their policy decisions on what the evidence indicates will happen if a specific policy is followed.

Anyone who makes an economic comment without having read the latest information disclosing of how money, tax, and economic performance are related is prone to talking through his or her hat.

Tories and Republicans
progressive pat,
The ALP are the Tories of the new millennium & the Greens are the new Republicans.
The LNP is probably the closest party to what Labor used to stand for. My, how times change.

Foyle,
In other words it's all interlinked with con & corruption & no most people with integrity don't need to read up on that & get brainwashed. Decent people prefer earning money rather than steal.

As far as conservative politics goes, I would trust the Tea Party over the Heritage Foundation anyday.

At least the Tea Party is made up mainly of ordinary people who justifiably fear the sinister side of government control over our lives. While they spare little sympathy for the poor and vulnerable, they understand how the military-industrial-media complex keeps the US and its allies at permanent war - both with its official enemies and with its own people.

Conservative organisations like Heritage are made up of well-connected, born-to-rule, self-appointed neo-feudal princes who pro-actively use their government puppets to promote the neo-fascist control of every aspect of existence - both personal and public. They are proudly unadultered warmongers and wowser traditionalists, and will stop at nothing to ensure the rest of the world fits their very restrictive vision.

The Murdoch-Coalition (and, to be fair, some of the ALP) are card-carrying members of the kind of conservatism embodied by the Heritage Foundation. They've been plunging their tentacles into Australian culture and politics since the early 80s. Their takeover is just about complete.

In context

Noting that Sydney is to grow by 2 million more people, means more traffic jams, more stress, poorer services ,increase in taxes/cost of living/housing, less bushland and farmland.

In addition it means a massive increase in debt , as everyone of us on average, is consuming more than we are producing.

It is a toxic design problem, with Australians “ asleep at the wheel”.

Last financial year, Australia sold $130 billion worth of assets overseas, masking our parlous financial state.
It is like selling the garage and the 2nd and 3rd bedroom of your house just to pay the bills but still borrowing on top .

Congratulations to the Population Stabilisation Party for their attempt to bring rationality back to politics and for responsibly
taking down their advertising so promptly.

Congratulations to Tony Abbott and I have hope, that he takes these facts into account, in his powerful decision making processes.

Best,
Ralph

Foyle, you are telling me I should study the opinions of those who either gave us the GFC, or failed to see the GFC coming. I would be interested in reading the writings of anyone who predicted the GFC, otherwise I am inclined to think I'll get better information from my vet.

I have salvaged a couple of companies. one insolvent & one in receivership, both got there by the financial experts, to be salvaged by an engineer. So I'm sorry, my faith in experts is somewhat limited, particularly the type who write books, rather than practice.
