in 2004–5..Sharon orchestrated..Israel's unilateral disengagement from the Gaza-Strip...Facing stiff opposition.to this policy..within the Likud,..in November 2005..he left Likud..to form a new Kadima party.

His stroke..occurred..a few months
before..he had been expected..to win a new election

on Sept. 4,..Israeli Prime Minister..Benjamin Netanyahu
attends the marriage ceremony..of the daughter of Eli Yishai,..the interior minister..and chairman of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party...While giving a short speech,..Netanyahu refers to one of his predecessors,..*Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

“May his memory be blessed,”..says Netanyahu.
The audience..is silent,..looking both stunned and embarrassed.

Netanyahu..quickly catches..his mistake..
and corrects..himself:..“May he live long...”

The gaffe was revealing.
Most Israelis..have forgotten..Ariel Sharon,..even though..he is still technically..*alive.

After suffering..a stroke on Jan.4,2006,
Sharon plunged..into a deep coma...Since then..he has been kept on life support at Sheba Hospital in Tel Aviv...He is 83 years old.

He has a single room..that is not located..in an intensive care unit. In six years..and nine-and-a-half months,..he has not given a single sign of waking up,..but..*has he had no major complications either.>>..

“He has a sturdy body,..but his case is exceptional,”..says a doctor. “Many patients would have died..of an infection by now...Not him;..he's still holding on.

This situation..may continue for a long time,

What may look like aggressive therapy..is actually not dictated by religious reasons:..Ariel Sharon,..like his parents and his sons, Gilad and Omri,..is not at all religious.

Since then,..the Israeli/press..has lost interest in Sharon..>>

On his way to the hospital,..he lost consciousness..but regained it shortly thereafter.

Doctors continued..to try to find out..how the blood clot..got to the brain,..and an echocardiogram revealed a small hole..in his heart,

To prevent another clot..from traveling to the brain..from this hole, Sharon was treated..with enoxaparin,..an anticoagulant drug.[55]

Sharon's treatment..with enoxaparin received criticism,..as anticoagulation could heavily*..*increase the risk..of brain hemorrhage,..particularly given his diagnosis..of CAA.

Sharon..had reportedly..wanted to leave..but the hospital*..wanted him to stay..another day...He was released..from the hospital after two days...continued to take..two shots of enoxaparin daily, and a cardiac catheterization..procedure to repair..the hole in his heart was scheduled for 5 January 2006.

Second stroke[

On 4 January 2006, in the evening before his catheterization, Sharon suffered a second..a massive cerebral hemorrhage..(bleeding in his brain)...

When..the paramedic inspected him,..he realized that Sharon was having a stroke,..and suggested that he be immediately*..evacuated to the nearest hospital:

However,..Sharon's son Gilad ..contacted one of Sharon's personal physicians,..Shlomo Segev,..and Segev told the paramedic*..to not do anything,*..and that he was on his way.

Sharon was carried..to the ambulance..on the scene..by his security staff,*..but the stretcher..did not fit the ambulance,..and it took twenty minutes..to get him in.

Just as..the ambulance was leaving,..Segev arrived at the scene and climbed into the ambulance...Despite earlier instructions..that in case of an emergency,..Sharon was to be rushed.to Soroka Medical Center,..the ambulance instead..headed for Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital,..almost an hour's drive away.

Ten minutes..into the journey,..a Shin Bet officer contacted the ambulance..and suggested airlifting Sharon to hospital..by helicopter...Segev and Gilad claimed it was unnecessary,..and Segev and the accompanying paramedic..feared that carrying him to a helicopter..would worsen his condition.[58]>>>.

On 13January,..doctors began weaning..Sharon off sedative..Sharon failed to waken..even after..he stopped receiving sedatives.[66]

On 15January,Sharon underwent..a tracheotomy
to help*..wean him off a ventilator,..and three days later, a breathing tube ..*had to be replaced..due to technical problems.

On 1February,..a feeding tube..was inserted into his stomach, indicating..that doctors were preparing him for long-term care.[67]

On 11 February 2006,..doctors performed..emergency surgery..to remove 50 cm of Sharon's large intestine..

The tribunal does not have a UN mandate or recognition, no power to order arrests or impose sentences, and it is unclear that its verdicts have any but symbolic significance.

A statement on the tribunal's website states: "In the event the tribunal convicts any of the accused, the only sanction is that the name of the guilty person will be entered in the Commission’s Register of War Criminals and publicized worldwide."

Seems as though this "Commission" is a lot of hot air - just like you.

According to you every Israeli Jew should be charged. This Commission is falling down on its job.

Did anyone notice that the casualties from Operation Cast Lead are almost identical to those in the Syrian Gas Attack!

Yet Kerry last week described Syria's (?) use of chemical weapons as "a moral obscenity" and called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad "a thug and a murderer."

If that is so then what Israel did in the Gaza strip was also a 'moral obscenity' and Netanyahu is also 'a thug and a murderer'!

Of course, the U.S. has killed far more people than either of them so what does that make Obama?
