Once upon a time almost everyone liked Israel. Not anymore.

Lego for your information 1,500,000 Jewish civilians died at Auschwitz, 800,000 died at Treblinka, 434,508 at Belzec and 150,000 each at Sobibor and Kulmhof. There were other concentration camps at Bergen-Belsen, Buchenwald and Dachau. These figures do not include the approximately one and a half million Jewish civilians who were shot at open air shootings such as Babi Yar in the Ukraine. In addition the NAZI regime was responsible for a euthanasia program which killed off the mentally ill etc; the extermination of the Roma not to mention homosexuals etc. All these facts and many more are freely available in German sources. For example, if you visit the Holocaust museum in Berlin you will see at the entrance a book listing the names of Jewish erstwhile residents of Berlin who were exterminated or to use their word "verschollen"

Dear Seneca.

You must not have much between your ears if you did not recognise that my article was entirely sarcastic. For God's sake, did you really think I was serious? Hahahahahahaha! Stop it, your killing me!

You must vote for the Greens. I have an Opera House in Sydney for sale for $5oo bucks. It has water views of Sydney harbour. Would you like to buy it?

Much to your surprise I have sufficient between my ears to be a serious reader of history, politics and philosophy and in another guise contribute articles which have EVEN appeared in Online Opinion.

I regard your sense of humour when it comes to certain topics as quite unfunny.

As a matter of fact on further reflection your comments say a great deal about you and what they say isn't exactly complimentary.

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion encompass all the nasty things Israel is accused of doing & planning to do by some of the above. The fact that it was an early conspiracy theory written in 1903 by Russian anti-semites and used by used by Hitler to justify the Holocaust seems to have been forgotten. Using today's terminology, we're dealing with what the New Euphemists call 'ethnic cleansing'. With vanishingly few exceptions (e.g. Tunisia), Jews have been expelled from the Middle East, North Africa and Russia, where they had lived for millennia. Within Israel, 16% of the population is Arab, and Muslim. Three times, since 1948, Israel's neighbours have waged wars explicitly intended to exterminate Jews. Twice in the last 30 years, Israel has negotiated peace with Palestine and Arab nations under international auspices — in both instances, Yasser Arafat unilaterally failed to deliver what, on behalf of Palestine, he had promised. Israel is a multicultural democracy. Syria, Iran, Libya and now Lebanon and Gaza, are oppressive dictatorships promulgating extermination of Israel and the Jews. If the road to peace requires naming and shaming 'pariah' states, wouldn't it make sense to include a few of those countries which presently -- some for half a century -- insist that there can be no peace until Israel is destroyed?
