foxy, SPORTING CLUBS DO NOT TEACH RELIGIOUS VALUES, to exclude persons because of their personal social or religious views from their employment when it does not impinge on their employment is discrimination. To discriminate for employment in sport on a person's religion, or sexual preference is the sign of a Totalitarian State.

A Christian society does not enforce any individual to believe or discriminate against a person's beliefs, the only discrimination is if employed in teaching and living the values they teach.

The freedoms we have enjoyed under a Christian society are being eroded by people who lord it over other's beliefs and enforce a totalitarian society.

I guess we can only speak from our own experiences.
I have heard hatred preached from the pulpit. I have
heard religious people expressing hate speech towards
those whose views disagree with theirs. I have seen
teachers lose their jobs, and the lists go on.
Religion has a lot to answer. And saying it does not happen
is simply wrong. Instead of screaming persecution - they
should be saying - sorry.

BTW: I was raised a Catholic - however due to my experiences
I am not a practising one. I cannot support a church that
does not practice what Jesus taught.

The AFL, sporting organisations in general, have no business preaching anything. Their expertise is sport, not religion or politics.

I have no interest in sport, but I do know many sports fans who are cheesed off with virtue-signalling sporting bodies to the point that they are cancelling their memberships of clubs. The slogan 'go woke go broke' might not apply to just businesses, but to sports organisations too.

And in the NSW Upper House the Green termites want the Lord’s Prayer omitted from the opening proceedings but not, of course, the Aboriginal invocation.
