Thanks Armchair Critic and for the links.

I suppose 17 is different than 13 but still illegal in the UK- but how do you prove that the "powerful targets" knew.

Interestingly...

Marriage age in Texas to under 18's was legal with parental permission until very recently.

It seems that Virginia worked at the same establishment as her father. It seems that the issues of parenting are more difficult in these "enlightened" times. One would like to think that her father could have the police return Virginia to her family home in the case she "acted out"- but sadly this probably isn't the case.

Very depressing to think of what this means for the state of Anglo-British culture. The US government and the corruption of society is possibly complicit in the affair- in allowing a 17 year old to leave the country under Maxwell's "care".

John Stuart Mill style freedom can create chaos- parents need to teach children virtue.

Many parents perhaps feel that the corruption of society has handed the management of the asylum to the patients- with predictably disastrous results.

More information is coming to light.

It appears that Virginia Giuffre had signed a
secret settlement with Jeffrey Epstein in 2009.
In that settlement she was paid - US$500,000
and she agreed to drop her case against Epstein
and not sue anyone who could be described as a
"potential defendant"

Prince Andrew's lawyers argued that this meant
Giuffre had waived her right to sue Prince Andrew.
But the Court disagreed that he was protected.

And so she sued and won. Prince Andrew had no choice
but to settle.

Republicans in the UK have had another 700 paying members sign up over the last month because of Prince Andrew. Harry and his tart, now Andrew, are 'feeding hostility' to the royals, according to the group's CEO.

Now that the money has been paid, and brother Charles says that Andrew will never appear publicly again, the whole thing will soon fizzle out. Worse things have done by relatively insignificant members of the royal family; and Andrew is insignificant.

I can't imagine Britain without the royals.
And I admire Her Majesty very much. I think
we all do. They must be relieved that this
business with Prince Andrew can now be closed.
Hopefully Harry will also return to his family
sooner than later.

Virginia Giuffre is to appear on the show "60 Minutes"
on Sunday evening. Hasn't she done enough and been
greatly compensated for It? Why continue to ram the
point home on a man who was only one of her clients
at the time? She can't sue the instigators of her
"abuse" because she received a settlement from them
so she's milking Prince Andrew for all she can. Greed,
pure greed. She should receive no sympathy and no
publicity. I wonder how much she's getting paid for
the Sixty Minutes interview?

Prince Andrew is no angel - but he certainly does not
deserve this.

Giuffre was certainly not the only girl Epstein trafficked and Andrew was definitely not the only person who took advantage of his sense of privilege and entitlement. Those wealthy and powerful figures assumed they could get away with anything and I for one don't think anybody is above the law.

Remember that before his recent charges and "suicide" Epstein had already been found guilty of procuring and child prostitution and there have been a number of investigative programmes that describe Epstein's methods.

Whatever Andrew did he did willingly and his bizarre lies after the event did him no favours so are we now supposed to feel sorry for him and make him the victim?
