Then there is the conspiratorial view of the nefarious use of camera technology for spying on individuals in their daily law abiding travels.
I think it is best practice to be aware of how camera surveillance is misused and what to do about it. It can be costly.
The camera technology used in the garbage truck instance is 5G IoT interfaced. Not only does this particular application stream live information to a central point in Council offices, it can also open up vulnerabilities which increase the likelihood of hackers implanting ransomware for example, which actually increase costs to ratepayers.
But that is an aside.
Camera technology is invasive to privacy, and my view is we need to be aware of its misuse.
Camera technology on private drones is an increasing invasion of privacy, and has little useful control over who operates them, and policing existing prohibition on flight paths.
You should be aware of these invasions and the ramifications.
