If everyone with a common cold were quarantined, we probably could eliminate it - it's just that the effects of the common cold are so mild and transitory that the costs would dwarf the benefits.

Unfortunately influenza can't be completely eliminated because it's endemic in birds and keeps jumping species.

But Covid19 is serious enough to be worth eliminating, and it can be eliminated (it affects humans and tigers, but not much else). It's a great pity the world wasn't able to quarantine like Australia and NZ were, as that would have solved the problem without having to rely on vaccines.

YuyutsuIf the government actually cared about it's coffers as you say, they would have used the cheep Ivomectin which saved India & Indonesia, for pennies a pill, rather than thousands a dose so called vaccines. Now it looks like it will be an on going twice a year shot, rather than a proper 2 shot cure.
