The only people who can deal with Morrison in the appropriate way are the voters of Cook.
ttbn, It's nothing like that as all. It's due to Qld Labor spending more money in indigenous communities than anywhere else. Posted by individual, Wednesday, 8 September 2021 1:21:56 PM

Probably 'selfish' is a better description of Morrison. He has always reminded me of a big, friendly (appearing) moon faced boy who has little empathy with other people, and is rather self-centred.

I don't get the reference to Queensland, individual; the division of Cook is in NSW.

ttbn,
I thought you referred to the electorate of Cook in North Queensland. Apologies ! Posted by individual, Wednesday, 8 September 2021 4:17:32 PM

This is typical Morrison, with his born to rule mantra. Do as I say, not do as I do. The guys as phoney as a $3 bill, with his smoke and mirrors, no wonder they call him Scotty from marketing. Take one look at the Covid pandemic and Morrison's mismanagement is written all over it, from his mishandling of hotel quarantine, to the shambolic vaccine roll-out, add in the Coalitions economic disaster, a trillion dollar debt for the next 100 years. The best thing Morrison said was back in March 2020 when the pandemic first hit, asked what he was going to do, Morrison said; "I'm off to the football." Pity he didn't stay at the football.

Pretender to the throne, Albanese, has refused to criticise Morrison’s selfishness and bad judgement. They are 'all in it together' when it suits them, the incestuous political class.

The jaunt by Morrison - who is paid over half a million dollars for what he is supposed to do - cost taxpayers four thousand dollars, on a $67 million plane also leased by the taxpayers. Ooh, is all that "togetherness" giving you a warm, fuzzy feeling?

Come on fellows you are sick! His movements were within Australia to his home, I heard no wimper from you over a QLD Premier flying to Japan. The issue is trivial, or political bigotry. you choose!

Hi Jose'
I did say at the time the trip to Japan was not good, and it was hypocritical on Palaszczuk part. Just as those footy fly-ins to Queensland were not seen as being fair. Morrison knew his actions would be judged as unfair, and he tried to conceal the trip. The political leaders have to do the right thing, they also have to be seen as doing the right thing, there is a difference. Like Morrisons trip to Hawaii at the time of the bushfires. HIs response; "I don't hold the end of a hose" was worse than the trip itself. It was interpreted as being uncaring, and that's a cardinal sin in politics. Paul you had made no comment when I posted. I know you belong to a party that just this week claimed Morrison belonged to a "death Cult", and would not retract the comment - when the person making the claim supported abortion on demand and life termination in assisted dying. We know it is politics that cry foul of trivialities.

At no time have politicians and public servants shared the burden with us. They do not represent us, they rule us.

They rule us?

What a pile on ! You lot are as bad as those Twitter twits, or are
you in fact the same ones. The PM wnt home at the end of the parliamentary week, just like the rest of them. Then as an essential worker he had the OK from the ACT to go back. Some of you probably think you and your job is more important. Twitter twits only may reply. People with common sense will say "Sigh". Posted by Bazz, Thursday, 9 September 2021 9:40:53 AM

Seems that Bazz is one of the suckers enabling politicians to act like dictators. Twitter? Less than 10% of Australians have a Twitter account, and I'm not one of them. Too much notice is taken of Twitter, but then, many of us are obsessed with minorities and their stupidity.
One vote every three years is no solution to the arrogance of our politicians, because they are all the same. Vote, and you get a politician. Josephus's declaration that nothing was said about the Qld premier's trip to Tokyo just shows that he doesn't actually read other people's posts. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 9 September 2021 9:56:51 AM

Don't be so narrow minded ttbn.
Scotty probably spends most days away from his family, perhaps as much as 8 out of 10. So don't begrudge him a Father's day quick trip back to Sydney. Are you trying to discourage possible future PMs ? If it was the whingers on here in that position, you wouldn't get a word in for the super whining. What ding a lings ! Again Proud Boy Jose'
You can fact check my post re Palaszczuk and her Japan trip. Just as I recall your over the top support of white susprimists rioting in Washington 6th Jan 2021. As for the opinion of Morrison by Cassy O'Connor in Tasmania, that is a personal opinion, not Greens policy. A belief of Pentecostals that burning at the stake is appropriate for heretics, stoning of blasphemers etc is part of their fundamentalist beliefs. Morrison is a Pentecostal, I don't know what he believes. Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 9 September 2021 10:47:49 AM

Hi Bazz,
It's not very fair of the PM to behave in a different way to what is being imposed on the rest of us. A lady was not allowed to attend her mother's funeral (she was fully vaccinated) and console her 92 year old father. The ACT and NSW are both in lockdown and permits are required to travel. Federal politicians are considered essential workers. Mr Morrison is subject to a Level 3 stay-at-home order, meaning he can move from The Lodge and Parliament House for essential work. We don't begrudge his flying to Sydney to spend time with his family. But he should not begrudge others for wanting to do the same. As a PM and leader he should set an example in obeying the rules set down if he wants others to do the same. Posted by Foxy, Thursday, 9 September 2021 11:00:36 AM

SCOTTIE IS A BORN WINNER. THAT'S ALL WE NEED TO KNOW Scottie's latest trick, taking a (probably costing $20,000+) taxpayer funded private jet flight to Sydney to see Jen and the kids, sux, pub test wise. Also if Jen and kids condescended to live in Canberra's Chateau Scottie (the Lodge) then such Father's Day Fancy flights wouldn't be necessary. Scottie's Spiritual Father, Donald Trump, demonstrated how being an aspirational Gangster (rich, famous, married to a Super Trophy) can derange voters to the extent they slavishly follow you anywhere. Scottie, being most unlike Herr Trumpf, exudes good wholesome values, a la Fozzie Bear. In contrast to whiney apparatchik Albo. See Scottie Fozzie Bear, with balding Kermit Freydensberg driving Australia's "Ship" of State http://youtu.be/Q6NQcO9KTBY?t=10s The likenesses are scary! Aye? In short, I hereby bet youse OLOers 10c, no 5c, that Fozzie Scottie's gonna win the upcoming Federal Erection. Your Lord Planta. Posted by plantagenet, Thursday, 9 September 2021 12:24:22 PM

Why do you call me narrow minded? What makes you accuse me of that? I would be interested to know because of all the things I've been called, many of them accurate, narrow-mindedness has never been one of them. Perhaps anyone you disagree with is narrow-minded from your lofty viewpoint? Or, is it because you are so rusted on to the Liberal Party and I, who used to be a Liberal voter until the likes of Turnbull and Morrison ran it onto the ground, have stuck to my values when they haven't stuck to Liberal vaĺues that made the party a clear cut alternative to Labor? Now, I must question your values if you think it's OK for our already extremely privileged PM to have a fathers' day "quick trip" denied to other Australian men, women and children. It's your sort of LINO that will encourage more and more people away from voting Liberal. The party is already haemorrhaging members and supporters, as it damn well deserves to. And, the LNP is packing the shites because of it. They are too pigheaded and arrogant to get a decent leader and get back to what they should be, so they get the word 'liberal' trademarked to them for fear of the Liberal Democrats. If he hadve been doing a good job, we'd all say yeah ok no problems.
But since he's doing a really crap job, well we're not so pleased. Posted by Armchair Critic, Thursday, 9 September 2021 2:55:37 PM

My wife and I moved recently, and live in a village and we are able to have trades and NSW Gov people come from miles away to do work and interview us. They return home each night out of our area.
If you are an essential worker not in a hot spot area you can move out of area if fully vaccinated and return home. Become an essential worker like a nurse you can and get a travel pass. if you are concerned about wether the PM is essential worker, check if he has a travel pass. My daughter has an essential worker pass to walk to work across a railway overpass into a hotspot to work in a hospital. Posted by Josephus, Thursday, 9 September 2021 3:52:35 PM

ttbn, narrowminded to my definition, perhaps not other's definitions,
is that you look straight at a matter and cannot see that there might be other parameters just to one side or the other. Also remember we are the employer of the PM and if we cannot budge off the narrow view, then we are no better that the dopey narrowminded public servants that you are complaining about. There are a number of matters that I am apposed to the Liberals on that can be seen on the TV any night. The party has moved to the left trying to suck in discontented Labour party supporters. At the next election it will be a case of least worse. Posted by Bazz, Thursday, 9 September 2021 9:58:15 PM

It's just another example of snouts in troughs of taxpayer's money, like $800k+ for Barnaby undertaking a water study and reported via text but not subject to FOI.
Morrison's jaunt pales into insignificance compared to Howard's record. Howard refused to move into The Lodge but stayed in Kirribilli because his wife wanted to wait until their kids finished High School. For some reason that took 11 years. Meanwhile he spent $2million of taxpayer money upgrading security at his private Sydney residence. Why? Who was living there? However that Kirribilli option meant he used to commute daily via private aircraft between Sydney and Canberra during Parliamentary sessions. Multiply that daily cost over all those years and Morrison has a lot of catching up to do with his single trip. Posted by rache, Friday, 10 September 2021 12:17:12 AM

Bazz,
Narrow- mindedness; "not willing to listen to or tolerate other people's views; prejudiced". You are the one intolerant of my views; and your post made that quite clear. Express your opinion by all means, but please don't call me narrowed minded for expressing mine. Posted by ttbn, Friday, 10 September 2021 8:55:01 AM

John Howard list his seat 14 years ago. Let's concentrate on the present Canberra Clowns damaging the country.

As a comment seen this morning - not referring to Morrison, but very pertinent to him - has it: "credibility is like virginity: once lost you can’t get it back".

In the meantime, instead of making the most of the opportunity provided by the Coalition shooting itself in the foot, Labor is emulating the self-destruction by backstabbing the candidate for the seat of Fowler, Tu Le, and handing it to that screeching harpy, Kristina Keneally. So much for Labor's 'diversity' squawking.

I only mentioned Howard because he's largely responsible for the mindset and standards of the current administration - selfish, arrogant, self righteous and privileged and still considered some sort of "hero" to them.
When it comes to seat preselections, Morrison should be careful raising that subject. I'm sure Micheal Towke and the Daily Telegraph would agree. Posted by rache, Friday, 10 September 2021 11:22:05 PM

Hi ttbn,
Not been a big fan of Kristina Keneally since my days in Sydney and getting to know how she and hubby Ben operate. They are known as deal makers which only suit themselves, elitist. KKK is a member of the Labor Catholic right, as NSW Premier she was very much under the influence of the obnoxious Eddie Obeid, as were many other Labor people at the time, but would not admit it now. The only people who can deal with Morrison in the appropriate way are the voters of Cook. However, like most Australian voters rusted onto a party, no matter what, about 60% of them (63% in 2016) will vote Liberal and this arrogant, undeserving man will be returned. Given his Labor-like attitude, he might even pick up extra votes from the Left.
Confident spruiking that he has done no wrong legally just doesn't cut the mustard. It's damn poor form from a damn poor sort of person.
