Gladys Berejiklian cuts her daily press conference just as NSW Covid cases peak – that is a dereliction of duty
http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/sep/10/gladys-berejiklian-cuts-her-nsw-daily-press-conference-just-as-covid-cases-peak-that-is-a-dereliction-of-duty

I wonder if shes going into hiding because she doesn't want to deal with it anymore;
- Or if they can't cope and both her and Kerry Chant on the cusps of nervous breakdowns.

- Because if the latter were true, then I probably understand that better than simply running away.

Has their ever been a situation where a premier might need to be forcibly stood down and replaced?

6 weeks ago she declared a national emergency, with 136 daily cases.
Now's there's 10 times that amount daily, apparently no emergency exists anymore and were all just going to live with Covid instead?

I could see a reasonable argument in saying a fresh team is needed.
If she feels burned out though, how does she expect all the health workers to feel, trying to deal with her governments choices?

- Gladys chucks the towel in -

We need to accept that Gladys wasn't up to the task, and move on.
She needs to step aside, and then where do we go from here?

Gladys is probably packing her bags as we speak.
Her roadmap to freedom might be a one-way ticket back to Armenia.

GOOD NEWS!

According to Premier Big Nose of La La Land, modelling by Professor Numskull from the Dodo Institute shows when those fully vaxxed, that is 10 jabs or more, reaches 170%, wonderful special privileges will be bestowed upon those good little munchkins who have cooperated, but not the naughty people. Wonders that can only be dreamt of at the present time. One such wonder will be that one blind in fully vaxxed houses will be allowed to be opened for 30 minutes a day, unbelievable as it seems! When 180% fully vaxxed is reached, which is expected earlier than anticipated, by the second week of October 2047, Big Nose did say the third week, but a kick up the arse to those hesitating, holding out for horsey pills, has seen vaccination numbers skyrocket from 2 last week to a spectacular 3 this week. Dr Scotty is standing by to jab as many as possible with his wonder vaccine "Donkey Juice" produced locally by Scotty, Jen and the girls in the family garage down Cronulla way, as approved by the YMCA, recommended for anyone over the age of 107, nothing like a bit of local production. "None of that crap made in Ethiopia for the Aussie battlers, and blow ins, good old local "Donkey Juice", ya can't beat it." said Scotty. Once 180% fully vaxxed is reached, Covid normal will be the go, which includes fully vaxxed families, limited to 4 over the age of 85, will enjoy such privileges as the whole family can in an act of togetherness take out the "Otto" on bin night, providing all are wearing full PPE including lead suits of course, goes without saying, and must run inside if a neighbour is spotted within 100 meters doing the same thing.

BTW has anyone got a 'Road Map' to Western Australia Big Nose is relocating, her state is run by a bunch of fruitcakes so she said.

Gee, so the State Government is responsible for the running of private employment agencies and other Federal government contractors in Victoria too?

In July 2011 changes by the then Labor government saw "the transfer of full funding and policy responsibility for aged care from state and territory governments to the Australian Government".

The National Health Reform Agreement stipulates the Federal Government "will take full funding, policy, management and delivery responsibility for a consistent and unified aged care system covering basic home care through to residential care".

In Victoria, the relevant legislation is the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. It grants the Government, through its chief health officer, the power to shut down facilities and, in the event of an emergency, to detain people, restrict their movement and issue any other direction considered "reasonably necessary to protect public health".

Facilities are not subject to federal oversight if they do not receive Commonwealth subsidies (ie State run facilities).

States retain some responsibility for residents but primarily it's the Aged Care Home operators. However, the State role is to help facilities respond to — rather than prevent — outbreaks.

According to Monash University's Health Law and Ageing Research Unit - "If you don't have an outbreak and the public health unit comes and says, 'I think you should be better prepared', the provider can tell you … you've got no authority, we're operating under the federal rules."

Legally "the Commonwealth is responsible, until the point that there is such an outbreak that the state can intervene using its public health powers".
