There is science and there is scientism. The so called conservatives believe perhaps that- the Covid response has undermined free speech, has been mismanaged by (certain) authorities, has manufactured a crackdown on dissenting opinion, has gone on much longer than necessary because of mismanagement, has engaged in a strategy which has undermined business and the structure including the broad economic structure of the community, (certain) authorities are complicit in the spread of Covid.

Plainly the community is dependent on the economic structure and this has seen cracks due to Covid and the reaction by authorities.

In the US (and Australia) conflict between Democrat and Republican authorities have resulted in Covid spreading unnecessarily. Plainly in order to have an orderly response to the spread Health Departments, Border Control, Federal and State governments need probably need a higher level of cooperation.

Perhaps growth policies and immigration have perhaps allowed Covid to spread more easily than otherwise- in the US the Democrats appear to have a reputation of being soft on illegal immigrants.

The conservatives appear to have placed the blame for the mismanagement at the feet of certain authorities and are acting accordingly.

Of course everyone on both sides always sees things in their own way- as is their right in this so called democracy.

In general it's ok for people and even politicians to be biased in their views- seems to be based on the principle that individuals are the best ones to ask if something is in their interest- perhaps not for bureaucrats.
