Individual,

I agree with you. I also don't think it wise once
a politician has disgraced himself - the way Mr
Joyce did - that he should be allowed to be re-instated
in such a top position. But I guess that accordidng to
the party rules - he can be - and was. I can only wonder
how close the vote went - and how many women were
allowed to vote? Mr Joyce's reputation is not a good one.
And he's of no credit to the Coalition.

Will they never learn ?
McCormack is just another leader/victim of the global warming debate.
Sco Mo is running hot for zero50 and not all are convinced that it is
the way to go. Certainly we should pay, while China fiddles.
Oh did you hear, the UN Heritage organisation is about to wrap
Australia over the knuckles for the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef ?
The chairman of which is China ! Oh Dear, hmmm.

Dear Bazz,

I'm sure that the Prime Minister knows how to deal
with China and others. He won't compromise Australia's
sovereignty or interests. He's done remarkably well
thus far. I'm just hoping that Mr Joyce won't be the
fly in the ointment - and obstruct things for our PM
and the Party. Mr Joyce is not very discreet or
diplomatic.

Thank god for small mercies.

Now at least we have one leader who has some common sense, & will slow to some extent, the mad rush to self destruction of the western world.

He will not be a useful idiot, like most here, & fall for the rubbish that CO2 can make much difference to global temperature.

I think the left has won, for the moment. With the totally stuffed education system, so few come out of even university with enough math to understand the facts of radiation absorbance. They are easily conned by the global warming scam, blaming CO2 & fossil fuels. I wonder how long the cooling sun, & loss of reliable electricity generating plants will take to wise up the brethren.

I personally have given up trying to show idiots the facts. Again thank god that there are some like Barnaby who have enough fire in their belly to bother to try.

The Prime Minister is going to have to tread carefully
and walk the line -
between two difficult pulling forces.

1) Pressure from strategic allies like the United
States and the United Kingdom for more robust
emission reduction targets.

And -

2) A Coalition partner - the Nationals, who are
firmly wedded to the country's fossil fuel industry.

The first is about Australia's standing in the world.
The second is about the PM's domestic political
standing with an election looming.

As Alan Jones pointed out - the PM can't stand his
new Deputy Prime Minister - Barnaby Joyce - but the man
just may save the Coalition. Therefore -
my bet is the PM will fold and go with his political
standing. He won't commit to zero emissions by 2050
as initially planned.

Unfortunately we are all going to see how politically
toxic the climate change debate is going to be
here in Australia.

At least Mr Joyce will be happy. His pay packet has more
than doubled from $211.500 a year to - $433.575.
Perhaps now he'll be able to live comfortably as well
as meet his obligations to his two families.

Foxy,
I simply fail to see the justification for such salaries for what exactly ?
The Opposition too who btw, really does nothing, gets paid way over the top !
People who keep it all running get a fraction in wages.
I think it's time these top bureaucrat salaries get reduced !
