I've got 4 computers, 18 monitors and 2 tablets in my loungeroom.
- And crypto paid for all of it, and then some.
I haven't been paying attention to trading for 3 weeks since I sold a few coins too early and they went up heaps which annoyed me,
- But my portfolio of coins I have left still went up another 20% in the meantime even though a large chunk of my money is just sitting in USD stablecoins (no price change) for the coins I sold.

My computers are 4 x Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF,
- each of them i7 4770 with 32gb RAM

3 computers each have 4 x 24" Dell monitors and a 1GB Video Card,
- 4 x 24" monitors on a quad monitor stand.

1 computer has 6 x 27' monitors and a 4GB Video card.
- 4 x 27" curved monitors on a quad monitor stand
- and 2 x 27" monitors each side in portrait view.

2 of the computers i.e. 8 monitors
- Each have 4 charts displayed on them for a total of 32 different altcoins I can watch.
I can click on any of these 32 charts to go fullscreen anytime

The third computer with 4 monitors displays
1 The price of Bitcoin on a 1 minute chart,
2 The price of Ethereum on a 1 minute chart and Bitcoin Dominance, an index
3. Bitcoin 5 and 15 minute charts
4. Bitcoin 1 hour and 4 hour charts

My main computer has:

My portfolio of ALL coins in all different exchanges displayed on left in portrait mode
Cryptocurrency prices shown on the right in portrait mode

In the centre curved monitors:
One is my trading screen
The second is for watching youtube videos and browsing
- The other 2 monitors are for watching the coins that I'm actively trading on any given day.

I also have the 2 tablets, one of which is needed for 2 factor authentification.
I have many passwords but they're kept in a digital vault with a master password.
The setup cost $6500 to build.

Armchair Critic,
Aside from the listed computer gear, count your vehicles, Air Conditioners, telephone, refrigerator, etc etc. & then work out what YOUR Carbon foot print is !

Well, my cars a 2012 Hyundai i30 turbo diesel.
It cost me $47 to drive from Brisbane to Sydney last year.
I don't know what the emissions are, but I know I'm probably using 3 times less fuel than anyone that owns a 6cyl petrol or large 4WD.

The computers aren't power hungry, they've only got 250w power supplys being small form factor units.
Here's what they look like.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/203239632059

I'm pretty sure the 24" monitors only use 14 watts a piece and I've tuned down the brightness to 40%,
- Both for my eyes and to reduce power consumption.
But power probably still totals around 1400 watts maybe when they're all on.
- But I don't always have them all turned on if I'm not actively trading.

If I were to make a decent amount of money and owned my own place I'd buy a second-hand solar system and get one of the rellies to hook it up.
They're not expensive anymore.

Here's a 5kw system with a German-made SMA inverter and isolators for $500.
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/springwood/building-materials/5kw-solar-system-500/1270881125

I'd gladly set up a solar system and a few wind turbines if I easily could but I'm renting.
Financially it's kind-of a no-brainer.

I do have a rather large 500L Fisher and Paykel fridge.
I've had a good run with it, bought it in 2004 or 2005.
The freezer seals are a bit old and it freezes up from time to time.
I've been thinking about replacing it, but it's still got some life left in it.

I've also got an old Fisher and Paykel washer as well.
I'm planning to give it to a friend to generate power, I watched this interesting video on how to do it.

Armchair Critic,
We all know emission from running these things is getting pretty good nowadays, what most don't know or rather don't want to think about is the footprint from the manufacture of all these commodities !
Every single item you mentioned is made from Petroleum/Oil.
If we only produced & utilised what we need then the wouldn't be any very little pollution.
The real problem is that we cause hugely massive pollution to satisfy our egos, greed, lust for pleasure & general instant gratification & that's what's causing the irreversible damage to the environment.
There simply are just too many people for the environment to handle. Those who believe COVID-19 is a worry, just wait for COVID-20-25 in OUR lifetime.
Global travel is already a thing of the past.
Want to put a stop to all this ? Support birth control & withdraw foreign aid to those who won't stop breeding like rabbits ! Also support reducing high level Public Service salaries !

Hey individual,
I know that by the sounds of 4 computers 18 monitors and 2 tablets
- This probably seems somewhat excessive to most average people.

I can tell you that I do try to get good usage out of what I buy, and I don't really have a whole lot of waste compared to many others, whether you believe me or not.

These upgraded computers should last me a few years, (even though the boxes themselves were built by Dell in 2014) and I'll find good homes for them if and when I decide to upgrade my system further, but it won't be in the foreseeable future.
