Anyone could be "the culprit". I think that discussing the
colour of a future baby of a mixed race couple is perfectly
normal in private conversation. To me it sounds like a
"storm in a teacup" and should not have been brought up on
American television - especially knowing what a fuss it would
cause. A bit of discretion was required - but of course on shows
like Oprah's - ratings matter.
