Our Governor-General Hurley has gone political by telling his staff to “check their privilege”, and take a ‘privilege walk’ devised by the Charles Sturt University. Check it out on on SkyNews - staff with bowed heads and clasped hands, possibly before heading off on the walk

The Governor General has a legal obligation to remain apolitical. It is a disgrace that the Queen's representative has behaved in this way. Any Prime Minister Minister slightly interested in the Constitution or protocol would sack him immediately. Unfortunately, we don't have such a PM. Anything goes these days. We are a decaying nation.

ttbn, I don't get this, what's 'political' about that ? Isn't this something we should all say that to each other & ourselves ? Isn't that what's wrong with the Public Service, taking the extreme privileges for granted ? Posted by individual, Sunday, 21 February 2021 1:04:08 PM

individual,
You don't think that identity politics is political? You think white people should apologise for being white? Doesn't sound like you. The GG is legally constrained against being involved in this sort of far left nonsense, or any other nonsense. His ridiculous act is the same as if the Queen did it. I guess there are many that want to wipe out White British and Western People and replace them with Black people vs BLM. By extension if Black Lives Matter- White Lives Don't Matter. I believe the fall of White Western People lies hand in hand with their loss of territory.
I'm not an expert on these things- but I've read a little... It's been said that there are 4 or 5 strains of humans- the police use such descriptions as a form of identification see IC1- Anglo Saxon- Identity Classification- yet the academics seem to deny this identity. If these strains represent different identities then surely they deserve preservation. Multiregional Theory (an alternative theory) suggests that hominids left Africa at different stages and developed into different regional phenotypicalities- though there was limited interbreeding between regions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiregional_origin_of_modern_humans The Chinese have claimed this and apparently have produced supporting evidence. British Boxgrove Man and Swanscombe Man (known as prehuman Neanderthals) are 400+ years old- also stone tools dated at 800+ K years have been found. It seems that pre-human hominids left Africa as soon as they started coming down from trees and making stone tools 10 million years ago before HomoEretus 2 million years ago was fully formed and before Australopithecus 120K years ago the first large brained human. Bonobo's (flat faced primates) separated from the human line about 10 million years ago. There are primate species that developed in Indonesia implying that at least some primates managed to leave their African origin. Some might imply that I am pre-Australopithecus based on my mentioning of this theory and therefore have a small brain... Perhaps. It's been said that Western European attributes of fair hair and eyes have evolved to support vitamin D production at North Areas of the Earth- these attributes being recessive seem to have some implications to how the different strains of humans were separated in the distant past. The is also true of the Asia epilithial eye fold being supposedly an adaption to the cold perhaps because of migration across the Himalaya's. Mountains form over geological time Posted by Canem Malum, Sunday, 21 February 2021 7:30:19 PM

Ice ages are also important to hominid migration.
The DNA records also give important information about hominid migration. It's been said that Neanderthal's genetic line is different from that of modern humans- at least no Neanderthal's have been found that link to modern humans- but the data set is fairly sparse and the picture is unclear. In any case White European People should be protected- every other so called "racial" group has their own territory. African people have Africa, Asian people have Asia, Australian Aboriginal people have territories within Australia. Different strains of humans have different phenotypes and genotypes- skulls, eyes, noses, hair, arms legs, etc. There are some that believe these differences should be wiped away and some believe that they should be protected- some want to frame this philosophical debate as a battle between good and evil Posted by Canem Malum, Sunday, 21 February 2021 7:30:47 PM

ttbn, I think a great & increasing number of them should apologise for being as stupid as they are, in particular those who present morons with Degrees upon vacating the space they wasted in our education facilities to make room for more ! Posted by individual, Sunday, 21 February 2021 9:44:27 PM

To Individual- I don't think the GG was apologising for being a public servant but for being white.
I've seen pictures of a poor 3 year old girl forced by her mother to hold up a sign saying that she is privileged. Very sad and disgusting. White people created their own success- they pulled themselves up by their own boot straps. White men, women and children died to create infrastructure in Britain which created their wealth- and was the source of the industrial revolution that created the middle class Posted by Canem Malum, Sunday, 21 February 2021 10:03:19 PM

Can one 'opt out' of this proposed 'privilege walk'?
Is there punishment for staff who do not take part in the 'privilege walk'? Are non-participants put on a 'never get a promotion ever' list? Posted by Armchair Critic, Sunday, 21 February 2021 10:32:16 PM

Anyone can opt out of anything, but few do for obvious reasons. We live in a censorious society where most people feel safest going along with the mob. Appalled and angered as I am by this action by a very privileged and arrogant appointee, I don't know what I would do if my living depended on such a lunatic. But I couldn't condemn those people who did succumb to his bullying.
What I do know is that I've lost any respect I had for the office of the GG, and am even more confirmed in my dislike and mistrust of the PM who has said nothing about the incident. Given idiots like General Hurley, and Prince Charles with his blatant move into politics, I think that, with the imminent passing of HM, the last of the dignified and loved monarchs, the republicans will get a different result when next they push for change. Should have said: the drones have been recorded doing the walk. It might still be on SkyNews. It's not really a walk, but an abasing shuffle, back and forth, heads down and hands clasped in front of what looks like an altar. All about letting the 'under-privileged' get the chance to get ahead, while debasing ourselves. No sign of the GG taking part.

Canem malum,
Thank you for clarifying, I misunderstood. I can fully understand why he et al are privileged but I'm White & let me assure you that I know more indigenous who have A LOT MORE than I yet they still claim to be underprivileged. Like that time one of those 'leaders' sat opposite me telling me about his 'poor' people whilst his $25,000 Gold Rolex was blinding me ! I have said this before, if Indigenous people are discriminated against could I too please be discriminated against ? Posted by individual, Monday, 22 February 2021 8:55:57 AM

The elites, including the political class, are intending to switch privilege to a small minority via the aboriginal voice to parliament. Some people will get what 97% of people will not get. Based purely on race. The political class in Australia is intending to create what is an apartheid system as surely as the one they made such a fuss about in South Africa - only theirs will discriminate against majority purely on race. They all want it, so the Australian parliament is a racist one.

White people are the target of critical race theory, which is what this ‘privilege’ nonsense is all about.
Canadian writer and blogger, Stefan Molyneux, described by WACKYpedia as a ‘far-right white nationalist’, believes that the twaddle and hatred put about by the likes of Cancel Culuture is a “rehearsal for mass murder”. If people can accept other people being “disappeared” from social media, they can accept people being disappeared for real. Mad as a March Hare? Perhaps. But given WACKYpedia’s opinion of him, perhaps not. People in Nazi Germany accepted the disappearance of millions of people, as did the Chinese during Mao’s Great Leap Forward. Molyneux has written ten books and produced more than 3,500 podcasts. WACKYpedia just criticises and blocks anyone with opinions different from theirs. I think if it was me in that "Privilege Walk" I would burst out laughing !
Laughing is a put down that is almost impossible to counter. The current attempt at putting down white people is pathetic as it is nothing other than jealousy. Other races have not been as successful as European sourced peoples. So to counter this there is all the waffle about privilege. The Arabs had their chance but somewhere along the way they adopted cousin marriage and Islam and that finished them off. The Africans can adopt all the freely available techniques and systems that west has developed and see if they can bootstrap themselves. The Chinese need no help except to realise their own racialism. The whole white putdown is blatant racialism based on jealousy. The whites supporting it are just ignorant of the politics. ttbn- "White people are the target of critical race theory, which is what this ‘privilege’ nonsense is all about."
I have to admit the ideas of Critical Race Theory at least as explained in the Wiki articles below seem contradictory and confused conclusions- the broader reading on this hasn't clarified it- though some of the ideas seem rational. It's concerning that law in it's use of Critical Race Theory seems to have become separated from democracy. There are some interesting syllogism's/ enthymeme's here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_race_theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_relativism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_constructionism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodernism Postmodernism seems to me to be defined by the claim that all relationships are about dominance and submission rather than cooperation- a one dimensional view. This doesn't seem to be reflected in the wiki article above. Critical Race Theory seems to be based on the idea than the principles on which different Cultures are based are inherently un-reconcillable and existential/ subjective/ not-objective and so any moral judgement is biased in favour of some prejudicial "Morally Relativistic" framework- and that will always be the case. Despite this the conclusions of advocates of Critical Race Theory seem to be quite different. I have a suspicion that something else is going on here- the necessity of some sort of undemocratic social engineering by those with the power but not the right to dominate society. Canem Malum, Greed & power are a driver for much dysfunction but they could be brought under control by legislation. The real frightening part of our society is the indiscipline that is driving actual stupidity way above natural stupidity ! An ignorant person can be enlightened but an indoctrinated refuses enlightenment and, it's them who are dragging our society down to ever lower standards. We have reached a stage where forced irrelevant mass Education is achieving exactly the opposite of Education. Luckily, at this stage we have intelligent people who are holding society together by a thread but once they start throwing their hands in the air in despair things will change ! Answer- Very true. Legislation is more complex. To me a healthy stable traditional society is less about government and law and more about looking after each other for the benefit of all- enlightened self interest. Obviously principles play a part- but it's an effect of "us" rather than a cause. Some have said fewer good laws are better than many bad laws. Education is the future of society- I'm concerned at the seemingly non-representative nature of current educational institutions. I would like to see different training, hiring, and management of teachers. If everyone uses their own intelligence then things could be better. But mass media and other "channels" are extremely powerful influencers than can be close to impossible for some to ignore- even over their own best judgement. One technique I use is to limit my exposure to types of mass media. Posted by Canem Malum, Wednesday, 24 February 2021 11:00:35 AM

A National Service would provide the foundation for many young people to adopt & appreciate a mentality that distances them from the 'sheeple' mentality. Skills, relevant to the times/surrounds would be acquired. Most importantly, it'd be the acquiring & appreciating of social aptness that'd help them throw the yoke of the insidious social pressures of PC etc. now plaguing our society. The 'Growth" mentality driven so incessantly by those with no other interests then 'making money' would be viewed far more cautiously & likely get hit on the head.
We need fewer but more properly educated people & reduce pollution as much as possible. A National Service could get us there ! Quality of life for all would be the best reward ! Posted by individual, Wednesday, 24 February 2021 11:43:16 AM

Hey individual,
I'm not sure she's throwing her support behind any particular candidate. I think she's saying they're all rubbish. And it's just a song, I don't think it shows any particular political leanings towards one political belief or another, And honestly I'm pretty sick of everything being a left / right battle. It's almost a breath of fresh air to not hear some virtue signaling crap about feminism, gender or some other stupid thing. I don't think putting a boot up pollies backsides does any real harm. If it makes them work a little harder its not a bad thing. What's your concerns? Do you think she subverts the minds of voters down to a gutter-trash level; Or does her song represent the thoughts of voters whose minds are already at that level? Or something else? I dunno. Here's something interesting.
Am I wrong or is this news article supportive of criminals; If not it's cutting a fine line in my opinion - And if it is it signals evidence that lunatics have taken over the asylum. Check this article out. http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/oct/14/sydney-university-professor-who-teaches-law-of-protest-arrested-while-watching-student-protest#img-1 I don't even know where to begin; You got this law professor who says he's organising extracurricular activities involved in protesting, and that he was openly telling people to go. He's also chairman of social justice. But he wants us to believe he wasn't 'WITH' the protestors. Can you believe the derangement of these people? Is there anyone who would be dumb enough to buy into the fact he wasn't with the protesters. Yeah mate, we all believe you, not. Thinking out loud now.. Does anyone here believe these so called university people would never lie, are honest and trustworthy? I digress. "Under the NSW Covid-19 restrictions, groups of separate people can be considered as one gathering if they are gathering for a 'common purpose'. 'The police have this idea of common purpose,' Rice said. “I was not part of any group, I was on my own. I was walking through a large group, I was not gathering. I do not accept that I was in breach of the order. I call bullcrap, they were there to protest, in contravention of laws they just did it anyway because they wanted the attention to their issue no matter the cost, that's how they work. They do it anyway then they show government foces attacking them and say they're being denied free speech by a tyrannical government, scratch that - after footage of the cop pushing that girl to the ground, they now call the government a 'regime' and state they have lost legitimacy to rule. Its a play book, that's what taxpayers are paying this guys tenure fore, paying him to to protest for more of the workers taxes. This country's dumb. Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 2 March 2021 8:32:06 PM

In any case the article finishes by defending the protestors who were breaking the law nonetheless.
The university said it “strongly defends” freedom of speech and the right to protest. QUOTE>> “We did not invite NSW police on to campus today,” the spokeswoman said. “NSW police did contact us once ahead of the event and twice during it. We confirmed we were aware activity was planned, based on social media. We provided no further information or judgment about the activities and did not make any requests." Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi, who is the party’s higher education spokesperson, said students were “rightfully outraged by what is happening to our universities”. “They have the right to express their views without being subject to violence or intimidation,” she said. “NSW police are clearly feeling emboldened at the moment and they went after students and university staff today. It’s incredibly disturbing stuff. Even bystanders weren’t spared.”<< No, they don't have the right to express their view if they are assembling in breach of Covid19 restrictions. Nobody else gets a free pass. Why is the newspaper defending crime? Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 2 March 2021 8:32:21 PM
| |
I'd be willing to bet Mehreen Faruqi, who is the party’s higher education spokesperson and other Labor members have no problem at all saying Proud Boys have no right to express their views without being subject to violence or intimidation;
Do we all think the left would object to violence and intimidation of those views? No, they would support violence and intimidation towards them... This country is so totally screwed up. There's no standards of right and wrong. - All going to someones narcissists plan I bet my life on it - Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 2 March 2021 8:42:23 PM
